Uh, wrong; it seemed intentionally ambiguous. Or are you only following MS's cheerleading boys? Take Two's comments on the matter were exactly as Take Two always words their limited time exclusivity deals.
Take Two was already working on a PS3 port of the game.
Whether or not it's dead is anyone's guess. But that's just what it'd be, a guess.
BTW, I find it extremely interesting* that supposed nerds(ie./.ers) are calling for more marketing... When did it happen that supposed "nerds" needed marketing to base decisions on?
On one hand, we have MS, who has stuffed everything they could, sans a monster of a power brick, inside a case with similar dimensions as the PS3. 3 CPU cores, a monster GPU. Running a port of Windows XP, part of MS's testbed for their DRM efforts, no less. On the other, we have Sony, who stuffed similarly specced crap inside a similarly dimensioned box, INCLUDING the power supply, HD on every system, capable of 1080p(read about the Xbox 1080p support, it's a gross hack), running quieter, running a port of Linux, with Linux-based dev tools, with a 50GB storage medium(also infected with DRM).
I'm not a fan of either of these companies.
It remains to be seen exactly how much the PS3 has to offer. Some devs are complaining about the new architecture, while others are doing amazing things. The ones doing the most complaining are devs used to D3D... The ones that are getting the most out of it are the best developers from the last console generation. We'll see what happens. It's not as if this is just a Sony pipe dream. They jointly developed the Cell with IBM. IBM generally knows what they fuck they're doing.
If the PS3 doesn't cut it, that'll be it. No need for all the FUD. And it is indeed FUD. Every single story that had a technical aspect has been incorrect. All the others are emotionally charged claptrap.
* Interesting probably isn't the right word. Sad. Hilarious. Curious. Some combination thereof.
Pointing out FUD from past releases, and comparing it to now, is "Sony fanboi* diatribe" and vitriol?
Interesting.
And then you continued on and on about how Sony is doomed... and then at the end say "Let's let it play out...?"
Interesting.
* Please don't use that ridiculous spelling. It is quite irritating.
Basically what we have is MS and Nintendo pulling out all the marketing tricks, and Sony doing its best to ignore the vitriol... Every goddamn story posted by Zonk is full of anti-Sony FUD and vitriol, yet it's the Sony "fanbois" guilty of spreading vitriol? Ok. That makes sense.
I am, BTW, completely console agnostic. I am willing to pay about $400 for my next console, so I won't be buying a PS3 anytime soon. But this shit is long since become ridiculous.
Whether or not any particular statement made by a politician is true or false has been irrelevent for quite some time. Indeed, when most politicians say anything that isn't a blindingly obvious fact, he's usually lying.
The problem is, we often all know that a politician is lying, but a large percentage of us go along with them anyway.
Senator Rourk: Power don't come from a badge or a gun. Power comes from lying. Lying big, and gettin' the whole damn world to play along with you. Once you got everybody agreeing with what they know in their hearts ain't true, you've got e'm by the balls.
If that's not an appropriate quote for American politics today...
Bioshock isn't a 360 exclusive. It'll be coming out for the PS3. Later. But it will nonetheless. I'm going to get the PC version.
I think it's a pretty precarious position to be in depending on a genre which plays sub-par on your platform, ie., FPSes are the biggest titles for the 360.
Mass Effect looks great.
Forza and GT will remain competitive.
I don't know a single person interested in Blue Dragon. There's far more interest in JRPGs coming out for the PS2 than there is for everything the 360 has to offer.
This console "war" won't be decide this year or even next. Sony still has more developer support than MS, the price of the PS3 *will* come down -- they've already reduced the launch price in Japan --, and Sony owns a lot of "must have" franchises. And the PS3 also has more room to grow -- 50GB dual-layer BD discs, a HD on all systems, and the Cell procesor(read about what the best devs have to say about it instead of just the ones saying "Wah it's too hard") should prove very useful down the road.
But it's the games that matter most. And Sony still has more developers on board.

Is the ESRB Broken?
·
· Score: 1
Every criticism I've seen of the ESRB is complete shit. Every single one. The fact of the matter is, the ESRB's ratings have been, IMNSFHO, very, very accurate, with only a *single* instance where I disagreed with the rating. And that was for Oblivion, which have the "nude" mod "scandal," the ESRB reevaluated the game, and decided that the game should have been rated 'M' anyway.
The fact is, game companies have been fairly honest about the content in their games from day one. The political bullshit with gaming today is entirely because of irresponsible parents and stupid, stupid politicians and lawyers.
I play a lot of games. I see a lot of content from most of the games that hit store shelves. Thousands upon thousands of games. Yet I honestly only know of one instance where I think the ESRB messed up.
And this new criticism about the ESRB not communicating with parents... Huh? I think the only communication necessary is the bigass fucking rating stamped prominently on every box! But they're *trying* to do even more, taking out ads designed by "Gabe" and "Tycho" of Penny Arcade fame.
No, the truth is that lawyers and politicians are attacking the video-game industry for money and votes respectively. Just like movies, music, comic books, table-top RPGs, etc. before them.
So, you are FINALLY, albeit not directly, admitting that you are a COWARD.
Thanks for the honesty.
Now let me be honest with you. You're a pathetic excuse for a patriot. You do not deserve the security you seek to gain.
This country was founded precisely so we could have rule of law by reasonable minds. To throw it all away in knee-jerk fear of terrorism is the greatest act of cowardice ever perpetrated in this country.
Public smoking bans have more to do with keeping cancer-causing poisons out of your body than putting morals in.
No, more correctly:
Public smoking bans have more to do with keeping cancer-causing poisons out of *other peoples' bodies* than putting morals in.
And how is that not a scientifically founded position? And WTF is this about fiscal responsibility and the Democrats compared to Republicans... Stop making me fucking laugh guy(the OP, not the parent).
Wow, still clueless. And you mark me a foe for it. Nice.
If you get a better signal from an analog input, your digital cabling is just plain bad. If your analog cable was equally bad, it would be awful too. In all cases, if your digital cable is GOOD ENOUGH -- where Good Enough is actually of much lesser quality than a Good Enough analog cable --, the data arriving at the video device will be an exact copy of the original media. That is NEVER the case for an analog signal. End of story.
Secondly, I said audiophiles wouldn't want to use HDMI cables to connect both audio and video at the same time since one goes to the TV/projector and the other goes to the pre/pro/amplifier.
Hahaha, that depends entirely on your setup, as I said. For most people, yes that's quite likely the case, but hardly for all cases. And indeed, in many cases it is convenient to have the audio data available on the video device itself.
Jesus Christ on a crutch, I hardly think this pathetic exchange is call for marking someone a foe... But, suit yourself.
Component video cables provide equal (or better) quality output to HDMI
That's utterly ridiculous. HDMI is digital, the TV set will receive an exact copy of the data from the original media. Component cables intrinsically have some level of degradation.
and its ability to carry audio as well (which no HiFi geek or audiophile wants anyway)
Again, utterly ridiculous. It's a digital signal. It won't degrade(Well, that's not entirely true. It can, but it will be very obvious.). Whether to use the audio from the HDMI output is just a matter of your particular setup.
The Japanese price also includes tax. So, if you subtract the tax, your probably at roughly $200 US. At $200, I'd have snatched on up with Zelda as soon as I had money^Wapproval from the wife, and it was in stock. Now, Wii + game (because the sports bundle is 100% worthless to me) is over $300, which is a bit much.
Still not expensive, but not quite in impulse buy territory.
I'm still a little surprised Nintendo went the shovelware route, after they had been making all the right moves to generate buzz for this thing.
Comparing Clinton's impeachment to RIGGING THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION is rather a ludicrous thing to do, IMNSHO.
In the Clinton case, a President with a ridiculous libido remained in office after lying in court about the things he does with his penis.
In the Bush case, a President steals the presidential election to win a second term, and continues to prosecute a war her started on false pretense, continuing to kill and destroy the lives of several hundred thousand people. All so Haliburton can continue building that pipeline they've been building in Iraq? Who knows.
But I'm glad your priorities are in order. If we can "move on" after a president bangs an intern and lies about it in court, certainly we can move on when our whole electoral process has been fixed in order to have King George in power.
I think a better mod option for you would be "+1 Not a goddamn hypocrite." While your post would strike many people as ironic, and I suppose it is, it just strikes me as honest.
*Sigh*
I'm really sick of the Republicrats. However, I'm too politically center to support, say, the Libertarians or the Greens. If the Republicrats were at least *honest*, we'd be much better off, and could comfortably continue with our pathetic two party politics for some time to come. As it stands... IMNSHO, we're pretty much fucked.
In any case, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they were simply paid by the industry to play them, for promotional purposes. But OTOH, according to some sources, it looks like the industry doesn't like that business model anymore, even though they haven't figured out any way to make more money on videos...
Shame can be an instigator of change. If everyone who was ashamed of the actions of our country left, then the problems would only get worse. Just because someone is ashamed to be an American, does not mean they want to leave. On the contrary, many want to stay so they can make a difference.
While ignoring the US system of 'Justice' is probably something Americans should do too, especially when it concerns implausibly large damages payouts
Personally, I'd love to see that, but in the U.S., I'm pretty sure you'll just wind up in jail, or have your bank accounts seized and the money distributed to the winning party... and then wind up in jail.
Uh, wrong; it seemed intentionally ambiguous. Or are you only following MS's cheerleading boys? Take Two's comments on the matter were exactly as Take Two always words their limited time exclusivity deals.

Let's let it play out before we begin the vitriol.
Wasn't that a big part of his goddamn point...?
Anyway... Historically, all the stupid bickering and fighting leading up to console releases has meant fuck all.
Well, it looks like the exclusivity is for a limited time, but that doesn't mean there will be a PS3 version I guess.
That's a shame(for Sony), 'cause that game looks great.
The problem is, we often all know that a politician is lying, but a large percentage of us go along with them anyway.
Haha, indeed, that reminds me of something from Sin City. Ah, here it is, found here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401792/quotes

I'd bet the cost is entirely negligible by comparison to the other costs associated with rolling out the PS3.

Do you honestly think that even matters in the least? No, it probably doesn't. You'll still be charged, and fined / jailed.
Unless of course, you are very wealthy. Then you may be able to buy some "justice."
That is just the modern way of things.
you're 100% wrong, see above comments above
