    While I agree with most of the physiological details of the retina, i don't agree with the conclusion. Please remember that the cons and rodes of the retina is only a first stage out of at least six (and probably more) stages of processing of visual input. We do not perceive the retina's output, we perceive the last output of the visual processing chain. Did you ever really "see" the grid? Look at the monitor you are now looking at, you have to stick your nose in the screen in order to be aware of the pixels.

    For my HP compaq nx9000, I just had to swich on the Suspend to disk support, and recompile the kernel, in order to get hibernation to work. Suspend to RAM never worked. That is true for FC2. Unfortunately theu don't have the suspend options enabled in FC3.

    The Brain-Mind Institute http://bmi.epfl.ch/ at EPFL (Lausanne, Swiss) is about to aquire one for modeling cortical circuits (or brain modules). This requires simulation of 100,000 neurons, each one is composed of a couple of differential equations. You need a lot of computer power (both speed and memory) just to get results for 1 second of real time. What will be learn from this kind of project is still a open question ...

    here also, mozilla 1.7.2 crashes with Segmentation Fault. FC2 If opened with Konqueror complains about "java executable not found" Anybody reported to Mozilla bugs?
