Apple said that they have been collecting your location data and that they plan to continue to do so in the future. What are you thinking that other manufacturers might be doing that Apple isn't?
Actually the idiots are the ones who think the problem is solved even if the data is encrypted. The log file in the phone is the symptom. A symptom that can lead to more problems, but a symptom none the less. The actual problem is that Apple has been secretly tracking users, and intends to continue doing it in the future.
Except for the part where Apple admits that they are collecting the tracking data, and intend to continue to do it in the future. The data on the phone is just a tell tale symptom. The problem is Apple tracking iPhone users.
Most people know that the phone company knows where their phone is. We are talking about Apple knowing where the phone is. Right now, my wife knows where I am. My dentist doesn't. If my dentist called me and asked, I would tell him. I would find it odd, but I wouldn't have a problem telling him. If on the other hand, I found out that he had planted a tracking device in a filling, we would have a big problem on our hands.
The Apple apologists keep pointing out that the phone companies already know where your phone is, so it is OK for Apple to do the same. That is a ridiculous statement.
Even if they do, that is irrelevant. Informed consent is important. If my hot neighbor wants to watch me shower, all she has to do is ask, and I'll invite her over. Heck, I'll invite into the shower with me. If I find out that she has planted a video camera in my shower, I am calling the cops.
Heck, right now, my wife and I GPS track our phones, and have access to the database on each other's phones. It is very convenient for planning dinner, finding each other at theme parks, and finding our phones if they are misplaced or lost. I have no problem with my wife knowing where I am 24 hours a day. We would have a serious problem is I found that she secretly install a GPS on my phone to secretly track me.
Since Apple states in their 'explanation' that they are collecting the data, using it, and intend to use it more in the future, it is pretty hard to rationalize it as a bug or an oversight.
The only oversight on Apple's part would be in not hiding the fact that they are tracking users well enough.
No one? Apple says that they do is items # 3,4,5,8.
It takes a pretty large amount of cognitive disassociation to rationalize that "This data is sent to Apple" as stated in Apples point number 5 means that the data isn't sent to Apple.
Apples response is a full and complete admission that they are spying on iPhone users. Sure they are using New-Speak to try and make it sound double plus good, but that doesn't change the fact that they are spying.
Give me a full, decent VM for running Windows less than 8 as well as images of those OSes, and get rid of any 'legacy' code in the x86 version while they are at it. They should have done that with Vista, and failing that Windows 7. With the current state of VMs, 'legacy' and 'backward compatibility' are no longer legitimate excuses for MS to have bad code. Although to be fair, Windows 7 is pretty good.
If your definition of not being "open-minded" is "hates the office ribbon interface", then you are correct that open-minded people don't hate it. I personally dislike it, but I don't get so emotional about my OS. I can certainly see how someone that doesn't enjoy trying new interfaces just for the sake of trying them, and just wants to get their job done, could "hate" a new interface that is noticeably worse than the old one.
While it is technically possible for the handset manufacturers to mess up the base OS, they really are not messing with the parts that would generally have any effect on that. And in fact, the same problem exists on Windows. The OS may be closed source, but there is plenty of room for system manufacturers to muck around with the system, and they do. Netflix does not test on every configuration of PC. If your PC won't run Netflix, they will simply say that your PC is the problem, and that is the end of it. There is no reason that the same could not be done with Android phones. In fact, once it was released, you could bet that the handset manufacturers would do the testing themselves to make sure that Netflix ran on their models. Heck, Netflix could dust off the Flash client, and if it didn't run on your Android phone, they could push the blame off as an problem between Adobe, and the handset manufacturer.
Again, there is no difference between the Windows platform and the Android platform except excuses.
My Linux mp3 player is doing great, so is my wife's and my son's. The 3 different ones we use around the house for music also work great. Our Linux tablet is working great too, although to be fair, that is one of our Linux mp3 players also. "Even Android" is a strange statement, as Android IS Linux. And if you think that those phones that are advertised as free really are, then it isn't surprising that you are an Apple fan, as you don't seem to understand what you are paying for.
Since they have not had a trial, you cannot legitimately say that they have committed ANY offense. There are already laws for dealing with what they are suspected of. The fact that WE did not follow the law is not a valid excuse to continue holding them.
Or a vehicle that would go from where you are to a platform that will then transport you in the same vehicle close to where you want to go without you have to pay attention, and then letting you pay attention to get the same vehicle to where you want to go.
That is crazy. Automated cars would be WAY safer for cyclists than human driven cars. What you should be doing is lobbying for bicycle transmitters so the automated cars know exactly where you are even more reliably than by detecting your bodies presence.
Your comment shows exactly how people that THINK they are making things safer are a danger to themselves and others.
Wasn't that there excuse when it was found that they had a hardware problem with the iPhone? First it was "Your holding it wrong." Then it was "every phone does this."
If they should be released and no one will take them, then instead of a prison, they should be kept in a 5 star resort. The cost would be similar and it would be the least we could do. If you can't fee them to another country. Free them in place, and then pay to make sure they are comfortable instead of continuing to abuse them.
Maybe understanding is that these prisoners do not fall into any previously defined categoy.
No they don't. The prisioners haven't 'innovated' anything. They were imprisoned for doing the exact same things that people have done throughout history. I can't say their exact 'crimes' or lack thereof because we have not been told what they did, and they likely have different cases. That doesn't change the fact that if they were killing people while out of uniform, that has been done. If they were collecting information for the enemy, that has been done before. If they were doing any of it in uniform, that has been done before. If they were sneaking in to places and blowing them up, that has been done before.
The claim that there is a new 'category', is a lie. It is a lie to try and skirt around the law.
There is nothing new about what these people are. Actual "combatants" that don't wear uniforms predate those that do. Spy's are nothing new. Collaborators are nothing new. Special ops who sneak in in disguise and blow things up is nothing new. I wish people would stop pretending like there is anything new here. All we have is a new word coined to pretend like the laws of our nation don't apply.
Your anecdote also points out just how pathetic many people will be. The parents that were picking up the eggs were cheating. They were cheating against two year olds. When my son was 3, we found out that there was an informal chess club in our town. He liked chess, so we figured it would be a good place to let him play against other kids that might be at his skill level. We ended up quitting because the other parents wouldn't stop telling their kids what moves to make. It was disgusting watching the parents teaching their 8 year olds to cheat against a 3 year old.

I actually missed that, and it is much funnier now.

That is ridiculous. Windows is FAR more "fragmented" than Android, and they have no problem with that. "Fragmentation" is a red herring.

Q: Is intelligence determine by genetics or environment?
A: Yes.

The behavior of being illegally held captive and tortured? I'm doubting it.
I hope by "right" it isn't what Sony and MS are doing, because if they go that route, I'll be driven from the console market.
Wasn't that there excuse when it was found that they had a hardware problem with the iPhone? First it was "Your holding it wrong." Then it was "every phone does this."

My question though is, what is an anti-neutron? If it is in the nucleus, and it has a neutral charge, what is the difference?
