Bloody ages ago there was a lot of talk of steam using torrent-like protocols to speed up sending out patches and help deal with the constant server woes.
What we need is to stop the delegitimization of torrenting as a file transfer method. Equating torrents with piracy is ridiculous on it's face, it's nothing more than a means of transfering ANY data that's use legally all over the place. i haven't downloaded a linux distro the normal way in years, steam uses torrents, the list goes on.
No it was the copper outside going TO the buildings and even outside the apt complex. I know exactly who to blame because they've bragged about it being their copper many times when I tried to get competition in the place.
When the copper wire literally disintegrates in the hand of the tech looking at it there's a problem. I had centurylink for years in my apt complex, there were times they literally ignored my support calls as soon as they found out there wasn't a competing ISP. Along with half the complex I jumped ship to the first non-shit provider that showed up... $140ish a month for TV, phone, and a 10/3. Still cheaper than what I used to pay for 3m/600k and POTS.
You KNOW all of those are asbestos, and you're not likely to be breathing it. A rope by it's very nature is likely to constantly have asbestos fibers abraded from it.
You're making straw men here. An accurate example is suing a rope manufacturer for making a rope with asbestos in it and not telling anyone they need to wear masks or they'll die a horrible death from breathing near it.
Or a fast food restaurant selling a product that's been deliberately made so extremely hot that through ordinary consumption when stationary the user recieves life threatening third degree burns.
And the final sentence of your post betrays that you're so biased to believe that length DOES correlate directly to quality and intelligence that you started with a lack of quality as a foregone conclusion and worked backwards from there to justify it, playing semantics with the definition of "succinct" in the process.
Your second paragraph is particularly ironic given that you clearly state there's always "someone who thinks they can bury their ignorance in a pile of words" while doing exactly that. If brevity is a strong indicator for a lack of quality then by definition length correlates to quality. Your argument is as if I had tried to claim that size does not correlate to mass but then gone on to say that a lack of size is a strong indicator of a lack of mass... ie it STRONGLY CORRELATES with a lack of mass. The only difference being that you hid that inherent contradiction beneath a pile of words seperating the two halves, making it harder to immediately recognize.
Fluency != length. I spent most of my time in college learning how to waffle my essays up to the minimum page count. If anything it's more likely that the more intelligent someone is, and more importantly the better of a writer they are, the more capable they will be of getting the point across in a smaller amount of writing.
I don't want to defend the TSA, I'm sure incidents happen and some airports in the US suck, but I get the feeling most people at many airports experience no real issues.
No, no they pretty much all suck all the time. We're just so accustomed to it at this point that most people simply take it up the ass, grumble, and move on.
Did you seriously just say that it's impossible for a piracy check to flag a legitimate registered user? Did you really say that? Think carefully now, I'm giving you a chance to reconsider just how mindbogglingly stupid your post was and add "4) Registered copy. Anti-pirate check breaks and thinks it's a pirated copy, bug is not patched, program crashes on level 10." before I fucking DROWN you in examples of exactly that happening.
"Did it right" in your post is synonymous with "has all the powers of god to magically make his program work perfectly everywhere ever."
Except I guarantee you that some of those "pirates" were legitimate customers and all it will take is ONE person posting proof of purchase side by side with you treating them like criminals to ruin you.
How are you supposed to BE sure it's clear without pulling forwards a bit to make a legal turn? Where the hell did you learn to drive, or are you just clairvoyant?
Also your argument about breaking the law is absurd on its face and the very definition of tyranny: The State is always right, do not challenge the state, do not violate the states laws and you will be fine citizen.
So in other words I should treat every single traffic light as if it were a stop sign and slow to a near stop before getting to it? Why not just replace all the lights with stop signs? We already have a system of saying "you should plan to stop", it's called the yellow light. The problem is that cities will set the yellow light shorter than engineers deem safe specifically for the purpose of causing more tickets.
You're not getting this... there's nothing in saying that only corporate HQ can approve contract alterations that infringes on your rights. You can do whatever the hell you want to the contract, but only corporate HQ can approve those alterations otherwise it's still the original contract.
I get encoding issues like that so much that I've basically resigned to living with them and switch between UTF-8 and Western depending on which is the least difficult to read.
Except this is nothing like using children's cartoon characters to advertise how awesome X brand cigarettes are. Having real guns in games which take place in a realistic parallel world is fundamentally necessary to that depiction, it's like trying to get rid of cars in a racing game to discourage speeding... what's your alternative? Have people float around in invisible cars?
You're forgetting that this system will work for more than just coffee.

Probably another nonferrous metal, zinc maybe.

Titanium frames, you were saying?

P.s. Succinct: "Briefly and clearly expressed."

We already have that today, you can guess any of the AP/SAT/GRE essays' grades with phenomenal accuracy just by looking at how long they are:

It's because our corporations pay many millions of dollars directly to the members of our government's legislative branch.

Even a relatively static personality/experience dump seems pretty interesting to me. Imagine having the collective wisdom of the past to draw on.

I think you need to go talk to someone that's had polio and reevaluate your opinion there chief.

If the contract states that only X has the authority to alter the contract and Y tries to alter it what does that have to do with your rights?
Except I've never seen an "employment contract" that didn't also claim that only corporate HQ had the authority to make any changes to the deal.
