not only are we known as stupid around the world but we have been upgraded to fat and stupid. thanks for proving this stereotype of Americans to be true. ps: I am assuming your fat.
Government is a process therefore your quote, "This is what our government is doing," is meaningless. the question should be, who is in control of the process of government. The answer will be business, specifically large international corporations.
Math and Hard science are easy for me. Just memorization, some students do better and some won't. students who consistently want to know why, normally have a harder time with math.
It is simply globalization, and the race to the bottom. The poster obviously feels secure in his abilities and thinks that the free market only applies to labor. Besides you can never win an argument with a corporate jock sniffer, just be secure in the knowledge that what comes around goes around.
It's ironic that in America, the country that much of the basis for the Internet hails from, seems to be regressing in Internet access. In Eastern Europe, more and more people enjoy fast and unthrottled connections, and ISPs don't care how many gigabytes of traffic you pull in each month. One ISP I know in Romania helped alleviate demands on its network by setting up a DC++ server where people could share films and music with people from the same city, not by penalizing customers. Everything is falling apart in America!!!! Especially our infrastructure.
"Everyone's allowed to criticize their government. But what if the comment had been anti-Muslim or antisemitic? I imagine there'd be far more dissent in the comments"
people need to take themselves a little less seriously..
I agree. Walmart also seems to be getting in the fray with the 200 dollar Linux box. It took a non-profit to come up with the idea of a very low cost pc. Now the Ferengi social nature of corporations, and the morons working for them, want a piece of the pie. Motive is important. No, the bottom line is not all a company should be about.
I also find the callus remarks of many people concerning poverty disturbing.
I already pay for high-speed access. Your US mail example would work better if you framed it the way the telecoms want to charge for Internet. For example; you would pay more for overnight mail within the US. Outside of the Us you would need to pay more, plus pay a premium depending on what country you want your mail to get to. Plus pay a premium depending on the wait time of week and the traffic of mail heading to a certain country. Ooh and by the way they can then say we no longer offer service to country x, because we do not like their pork eating habits. Your simplistic example belies the misunderstanding that abounds concerning this subject. Last point during the 90's the telecoms were given billions of dollars of tax breaks to improve their pipes in order to offer service to more people. What did they do with the money?
the tech industry fills its coffers on the backs of slave labor.
Apple needs to keep kids working. Why not gaming cartridges...lol
funny, while reading the original post I thought immediately of Asimov.
that"s heresy one must not speak false of our corporate elders. good point, but i'm sure some corporate sycophant will try to rationalize your point..
Gotta be a real douche bag to work for those people.
LMAO, can i use your quote?

No surprise corporations have their way and the commons suffers.

Now it starts to make sense, I always wondered why Game spot never gave top tier games a bad review.

Your missing the point. too tired to explain it to you. all I can say is sometimes ya think about someone other than yourself.
we do pay, when one signs up, you get charged a monthly fee for access.
