Does it bother anyone else that the first advisory they post is set for November 9th, the same day as the Firefox release, and is for the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server?
Me thinks an update to the firewall... Block all outbound access for process firefox.exe...
I know several online retailers (like Newegg) that show a "May we suggest" bar or a "Also purchased with this item" bar on the side of any product detail page. How is this anything new? And if they do win, how many other targets could they sue?
It's just crazy.
That I was in DOS mode (boot to command prompt), and for some reason smartdrv never occured to me, (relatively newbie at that time, maybe I still am?)
Oh well, nowadays, any files needed are backed up to USB stick or CD-R and then quickformat away.
Still though, I really need look through documentation a little more, especially since I'm starting to play around with Linux on my second 'frankenmachine.' (case from HP, K-6/mb from gateway, some drives from Dell, etc.)
I turn System File Restore off. I believe it's a waste of disk space and processing power, and I have yet to see it replace a corrupt or virus infected file (usually it harbors them, like terrorists).
I remeber trying to reinstall windows 98 an a machine a few years back while keeping many of the user's old files (otherwise, format c:/q), and deltree took forever to run (on the order of an hour!).
Does anyone know why NTFS/FAT is so slow at deleting files?
We aren't the people going out and voting because P Diddy told us to.
Which brings me to my next point: Why do we let uniformed idiots (my opinion) encourage mindless voting in the first place? And how can we stop it (besides commiting some sort of felony we WON'T get way with)?
I doubt you can stop a third party program from calling IE explicity. Any program that just says open an html file should open with your default browser.
Or were you wanting to try to strip IE from windows and rename firefox iexplore.exe?

OSHA requires hearing protection for those continuously exposed to 85 dBa and above. So, not quite.
I would drink it too. With some of the modern filtration methods available, you can achieve water so pure that it acts as a very good insulator rather than conducting any electircal current.
Between distillation, ion exchange, activated carbon, chemical treatments, reverse osmosis, microfiltration, ion collecting, and UV radiation, you can take the scummiest water and clean it up to near perfection.
I have made pure water in a college lab where the pH would drop as soon as it was exposed to the air from dissolving CO2.
Or how about the movie industry? Seriously, how many crap movies are put out each year, with ever last one of them promoted as the biggest, baddest, bestest blockbuster of the year? How many are worth my money, maybe 1 or 2.
You really don't want to cheat in a programming class with tools like this freely available. Working as a teaching assistant for a C and JAVA class, several students were caught and failed the class. Some were even expelled from the university.
Living withing the Cinergy power area, I would love to have BPL. Currently, I cannot get DSL or cable (or even cable TV!) where I live, so the only option is satelite, which sucks whenever thick clouds are in the sky. Having this would greatly improve my current situation. 19.2 kbps dialup (phone lines were hit by lightning, Verizon says they're ok).
I thought you were refering the the possibility that they might put a trojan on their website that will pop up boxes or programs encouraging their visitors to switch.
Heheh, hijack IE's homepage to the Firefox or Opera download page... That'll teach 'em.
Otherwise, the votes wouldn't have been counting down- after getting to 32767 votes, they would have started counting up from -32768.
unless the display just didn't show the negative sign.
And you fell victim to your own calling... But so did I. Seriously though, why do the editors even tempt with a headline like that?

What do you think it would take to get a "Frivolous Lawsuit of the Day" slashbox on the homepage?

I prefer www.FrontysMeatMarket.com personally.
And of course they could use the extra dough to replace the now smolding servers!
So what happens when you hit a bomb? Does the car crash into the vehicle in front of you?

"What you say?!"
One of the first flash movies I ever saw is still funny today.
Also, my radeon 8500 edges out the GeForce 6800 Ultra. I guess I don't need to upgrade for a while... :-)

I just have one stolen copy and a MS Access database of all the stolen keys. Gotta use MS to keep that data secure!
