Wow, I wonder if it's a rare thing to have 2 female friends that are both proficient at math. I have two female friends, and they're both under 20, and are in Calculus classes, and make A's.
I've gotten SO MUCH spam on my blog and via e-mail about online poker, that I HATE poker now, and I've never even played it.
If the gambling sites are worried about DDoS, tell those bastards to stop pissing off the rest of the world.
eWeek has a MUCH better in-depth review of VoIP. I recieve eWeek in magazine print form, and it had a three-part series about VoIP. Also, they have an entire section dedicated to VoIP.
Web Servers and Data Servers are most often seperate. Like the saying "Don't keep all of your eggs in one basket". This helps to manage your servers, because if you main site went offline, then your data servers would die as well, and visa versa.
It's not like most LiveJournal user's have enough to worry about, here's something for most LJ users to get melodramatic about. I'm serious, randomly pick 5 LiveJournal blogs, and I guarantee 4 out of 5 are going to be "Fuck the World" posts.
They would be better off giving up the computer, since adware/spyware has already been downloaded to their computer, and most of the time, to display ads, there is no need for a network connection. Because the ad is already ON their machine.
But the people who are giving up the internet are STUPID.
Hey, I don't know much about cars, but there's no way in hell I'm going to give up my car because I have car problems every few months.
On my Windows machines, I run NTBackup.exe every single night, so that I have a 24 hour old backup, incase the worse happens. It's saved me plently of times.
Is mini the new "2000"? You know, how everyone a few years ago were saying "SuperUltra Cleaner 2000" etc...

"So far the overhaul has cost $581 million""development costs and render worthless much of a current $170-million contract."
Why the hell do they need THAT much money to develop an application? Hell, look at Linus Torvalds, or Ben Goodger. Did they need half a billion dollars to do what they did? No.
Sad indeed.
If you want technology, look no further than the University of Washington TV, available via Satellite and Streaming Video on their website.
It features lectures and presentations from actual classrooms at UW. I've been watching this channel for a couple of months now, and it's so much better than TechTV, or G4.
Hey, I've seen it happen before. I was microwaving water, and it wasn't boiling, and it was in there for almost 4 minutes on high when....BOOM! The water sunk down real fast, and blew up in the microwave, causing hot water to get everywhere in the microwave.
"She added that some Indian call centers show their operators episodes of "Seinfeld" and "Friends" to teach them about American culture."

...That if an open space is large enough for a mini-atx or btx case, somebody is going to mod it to hold one. So this isn't anything new, it's just someone wanting attention because they can cram some hardware in a space.

Seems like EA is creating a monopoly.
Nothing for you to see here. Please move along.
Wow, this is old information. We all know ActiveX isn't good at all with security. So an id programmer learns the dangers of ActiveX. What next?
