You need to connect everytime you trade?! That's not from time to time, that's every time you dock... at least thats how I played Elite (and F:E2, F:FE).
Guess I'm back to not buying this, or a Rift until there's another 'must have' game.
Having RTFA... the summary is misleading. Single player still seems to exist, but will need to sync your universe with that of the multiplayer universe "from time to time". That's perfectly acceptable to me.
I'm back on with E:D and the Rift.;-)
Well, that sucks. Elite: Dangerous was going to be a day one purchase. Now, I'll wait for reviews and maybe a steam sale.

The term embedded in this context just means a fancy type of hyperlink that displays contents from another site on your webpage. This is exactly equivalent to hotlinking images, and it can be stopped in exactly the same way. Anyhow, hyperlinks are not infringement, so it's obvious by extension that embedded linking isn't infrintement either.

I don't see the need to excuse the logo, use it to help explain how FreeBSD works.
Most, if not all, of the books I have on FreeBSD use the logo as a way to introduce the OS. What a daemon is, and why FreeBSD makes so much good use of them.
Really, if Demon Internet can make use of the word 'Demon' and have a halo with devil-horns as part of their logo, what the hell is wrong with a cute cartoon daemon?
I installed FreeBSD when 4.2 was released and haven't felt any desire to try the others. Friends of mine ran Free already so it was easy to get help at the time.
But one with proper security controls put in place like a good virus scanner/firewall/IE settings/anti spyware and creating a non-admin user for web browsing will not be affected. If you're hit by this one, you have only yourself to blame. All of the above should be installed and working before you go online.
Most anti-virus software wants to go online to check for an update - and may not protect you from the latest exploit/virus before it has downloaded the update.
I have suffered in exactly this situation when installing Windows/etc from scratch on new machines.

Couldn't agree more.
There are many games out now that have a ridiculously high minimum spec, and the reward for achieveing this is hugely disappointing in comparison to what was being done years ago on much simpler machines.
For example, the Sims2 plays incredibly badly on a XP2200, Geforce4Ti4600, 512MB ram. Not exactly a cutting edge machine, but come on! The Sims2 doesn't exactly present me with any cutting edge in the visuals department.
The only thing to blame is sloppy coders. In my days as (and here I risk discrediting myself) an Amiga user, people were doing more impressive things on a 200MHz 603e with 128MB of ram than The Sims2 on a 1.8GHz processor and 512MB.

Depends how you interpret the IAU's 2006 definition of a planet. Earth's moon can be considered a planet in it's own right.
