In true slashdot tradition I know nothing about what I speak of, but... I would assume, with the volume of users this site enjoys, that it would take more than a few users tagging something for any individual tag to appear. If you happen to be unique with your tags, you may well not see yours appear.
I have nothing to say to this. You are literally not in the same reality as more rational people. I wish you all the happiness your twisted self-righteousness allows you.
Ooh, an Internet Tough Guy. I'm shaking in my virtual boots.
1) Sure. Also, there's unlimited space for landfills. Want one in your front yard?
2) 4chan in the news. Are you aware there's a fairly detailed wikipedia page about 4chan? It details the various threats of violence, organized DDOS against other sites, and yes, some of the memes that have spread beyond 4chan. I think the wiki covers 4chan admirably well, you'll notice that the phrase "mouth-breathing drooling retard" doesn't appear on the page at any point.
3) Just so I'm sure I understand you; you're threatening violence, as in you come over here and beat me up or try to kill me? Alright, Internet tough guy. Send me a PM, I'll send you my address. We'll rock and roll. Yes, I am the AC you responded to.
4) Have you read deletionpedia? I suggest you do. Click random a few times. Do you know what you'll see? Trash that MySpace would delete. Unsourced biographies of stillborn babies, a page consisting only of the song lyrics to some rap, a 3-line spam "article" about a ringtone peddler, a one-line article consisting of nothing but a slam against "LMS". If you genuinely think wikipedia is enriched by enabling people to read about a half-started game on sourceforge, then you are seriously deluded as to what wikipedia is about.
The immense sense of entitlement you people have for your pet ideas...why should wikipedia host you? If you're the only person in the world who cares to even know the concept exists, DELETE IT. If your group can't make anybody in the media care enough to write about it, DELETE IT. It's a simple rule...if your meme has no impact on society, it doesn't belong on wikipedia.
Now, I do nothing at wikipedia beyond hitting the "random article" link and looking for amusement, but...
An article about your grandpa? Adding a link to your own website? Writing an "article" that bitches out the people correcting your spam? RE-adding the link to your website?!? You're the spammer, and YOU are the one that fails.
Mexicans are now the largest racial group in California. Would you suggest California should make Spanish the state language? The U.S. decisively does NOT have a national language. If you can't lose your bigotry, then get out of my glorious melting pot of a nation.
John McCain himself admitted to being computer illiterate. (Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_R9wnMVZE_Q) Commenting on this is an amusing anecdote, not a "partisan asshattery", even if Obama's camp has seized on it as a major talking point.
Mac has no concept of tabs in its window manager. Also, your chief point about multi-level tabbing exists to some point already. Alt-tab (or Cmd-tab) between applications, and Control-tab between windows of an app. If there's ever an OS with a deeper "tree-like" window manager, you'll find me far far away from it. Windows are not Files, and managing them as if they are just breaks the GUI paradigm.
Comparing MMOs to any other hobby in terms of price is a horrible thing for an anti-MMO person to do.
Most MMOs are $15 / month, no matter if you play 1 hour a week or 60. A round of golf costs between $20 and $1800, depending on how famous the course is. That lasts you several hours, then you pay again if you want to keep playing. An alcoholic could burn through $500 a month very easily. Some of my friends who drink at bars tell of their night's tab exceeding $200, for a few hours of inebriation.
About the only cheaper activity than playing an MMO is watching TV.
In a community of 100,000 people in the United States, 76 of them will have AIDS. In a community of 1,000 people in Africa, 60 of them will have AIDS.
Clearly, the AIDS problem is solved in Africa, and the US is experiencing an epidemic of incredible proportions. It's more people than Africa!
Your misunderstanding and misuse of statistics, and your utterly incompetent fraudulent use of Python to shore up a faulty statement, indicate that you have nothing of value for the world to hear. In summary: *PLONK*
You misspelled neutrino not one, but three distinct ways.
N e u t r i n o
You also misspelled quite a few other words, but those aren't nearly as aggravating. If you're trying to be pseudo-scientific and sound like a certifiable genius, at least spell correctly the concepts you're misunderstanding.
Short of immediately colonizing another star system several light years away, a nearby GRB aimed at us would be an extinction-level crisis. There's absolutely nothing we can do to ameliorate that problem without a highly robust space program, so lets work on the problems we can have an impact on. i.e., climate change and the specter of nuclear holocaust.
Salvage logging--removal of dead, diseased, or insect-riddled trees--is a good thing for old growth forests. It makes them less vulnerable to wild fires and creates room for new trees to grow. The actual writing of the bill, combined with a judge in the pocket of the loggers, left massive loopholes in what should have been a protective measure for the forests. And you can't genuinely blame Clinton: the Congress gave him a choice between shutting down the government or allowing 15 months of selective logging in specific areas. There's no correct answer for that choice.
His inability to speak at the same level as intelligent people has nothing to do with his mental defects. His cornball accent and mannerisms are deliberate.
You haven't played the wow endgame, or you just hate raiding, heroic dungeons, battlegrounds, arenas, crafting, questing in new zones like Sunwell, and improving your character in ways completely separate from the level. And if that's true, I have to wonder how you managed to play to level 70 without losing interest in the game. As for the vanguard comparison, wow leveling is simple enough (7 days/played time for a 70, or 2-3 months of playing a reasonable amount daily) that any additional leveling boost is largely unnecessary. Your first toon takes longer only because you haven't learned the game yet.
My dad raises sheep. Frankly I think if they weren't shorn regularly the poor things would turn into immobile bleating balls of fluff. If sheep were smart enough to know what giving permission meant I bet they'd trot right up to the clippers.
You need to upgrade your irrational prejudices. Macs get gray screens of death. Happened to my MacBook last week. It took me a whole hour to drive down to the apple store, get it fixed(hard drive replaced) by a mac genius, and drive back home. Ridiculous! A whole hour! To fix a major hardware flaw! On Windows, just futzing with driver settings to fix a blue screen would've taken four or five hours, but I wouldn't have had to drive anywhere!
The unrealistic ideal of socialism has nothing to do with politicians and powerful companies gaining power over the little people. What is commonly called socialism tends to act that way, of course...but you can't claim that as a flaw of "Socialism". That's just people being people. It doesn't matter one whit what the political structure of a group is, power will concentrate among the elite, the remainder of the people will beg for scraps. It's all a matter of degrees.
Mod parent up. This guy wants a spreadsheet, he just doesn't know it. Excel--or the free alternative from OpenOffice.org--will do everything he could possibly want, and although it saves as its own infernal file format, it exports competently into a tab or comma-delimited format.
All the extra "requirements" are just pseudo-intellectual mumbo-jumbo that have no bearing on reality.
Full disclosure: I play Warcraft in a raiding guild.
Anybody who cites the removal of attunement from a high-level raid instance as a reason to give up raiding is a complete and total idiot. The fact that you can set foot into a raid does not in any way mean you can beat it. The only thing attunement gives is a way for raiding guilds to weed out the complete and total idiots. Honestly.
For those of you that don't grasp this, here's how it was before the patch: Level to 70. Replace gear with low-level dungeon loot, and complete a quest while you're doing that. Raid one thing and get better loot. Raid the next thing and get better loot. Raid the next thing and get better loot. Hooray, you beat the game, go outside.
And here's how it is after the patch: Level to 70. Replace gear with low-level dungeon loot. Raid one thing and get better loot. Raid the next thing and get better loot. Raid the next thing and get better loot. Hooray, you beat the game, go outside.
Guess what. It doesn't matter if there's no attunement. Everybody still had to spend the identical amount of time and effort getting better loot to even survive stepping in the front door of Illidan's house.
Why do these moronic ask slashdot questions always rule out the one useful answer in the very question?
"A Linux live CD is not an option". Bullshit. You windows-swilling pansy, grow some balls and try Linux. It won't kill you, it won't make you gay, and it won't rape your dog. Are you terrified of being free from >99% of viruses/trojans/spyware/adware/rootkits? Is there some kind of Stockholm syndrome going on here? You LIKE it when windows beats you, don't you? You hide the bruises, that's why you always wear those sweaters.

In addition to holding mindless prejudices, you also didn't read even so much as the text YOU quoted. Are you 12, or just an imbecile?
A 5-minute Google indicates that it is, in fact, true. You need only read the titles of these search results to prove it to yourself:
http://www.google.com/search?&q=consumer+reports+apple+tech+support
If you're going to respond to my posts, do me the courtesy of reading the whole post before you react like a mindless fool.

Nah, those come free with windows. Personally, I can't wait for IT to upgrade the computers at work to Vista.
I put troll at +6, offtopic at +2, and insightful at -3. My way of counter-acting the group think.
