Voting is supposed to be for pretty much everybody. If the system is designed and/or implemented in such a way that user error is POSSIBLE, it's a design/implementation error.
I haven't seen the interfaces of these machines, but what's wrong with:
Candidate A [Button] Candidate B [Button] Candidate C [Button]
he advises Microsoft to purchase "Research in Motion"
That would be a real shame. As a Canadian, I love to see strong products coming from the great white north. MS already took care of Corel (which used to be a publicly traded company based near Ottawa, Ontario) by having a (privately owned) subsidiary buy them and move them to a more controllable home in the US. (I'm not trying to be anti-US here, moderators!)
For those of you who don't know, RIM is based in Waterloo, Ontario. It would really suck if MS bought them out, too. Then all we'd have is OpenBSD!
No, Robin Hood actually stole from the Sherrif. That would suggest that Linux actually stole code from SCO. I think we're all pretty confident that that hasn't happened.
OOo is incredible, considering how young the project is. Currently, I consider it to be about as good as MS Office 97.
Stop whining about the UI and MS compatibility; they will both improve.
My main concern is BLOAT. OOo is a memory hog, and its integrated PDF export is *extremely* inefficient. Don't get me wrong, PDF export is a killer feature, but I usually use CUPS-PDF on Linux or PDFCreator on Windows. Both produce more compact files.
Good work OOo team! You're well on your way to producing a VERY strong product!
Or, get a MEC Darwin pack. They're designed for laptops, well made, inexpensive and not-obviously-a-laptop-bag. Oh, and those are CANADIAN dollars on the website, so you'll save some dough, too.
are trying to decide if girlfriends or wives are better.
The economist says that wives are better because you have to spend more money on girlfriends.
The psychologist says that girlfriends are better because they make you feel younger.
The mathematician says that he prefers to have both. That way, his wife always thinks he's at his girlfriend's place, his girlfriend thinks he's at home, and he can go to the office and get some goddamn work done!
(Yes, I realize a joke about wives and girlfriends might be out of place on./).
...with Google's Joe-Schmoe name recognition, this browser might actually become more successful than Firefox in short order, assuming it gets released within a year or so.
Probably it's not a joke. I'm aware of K3B, and I've even used it. I agree: it's an excellent application. It works well, and it's *extremely* easy to use. There's just one problem: it depends on Qt.
I don't use KDE, and I try to avoid installing its libraries if I can. This is very hard to do sometimes, because some very good programs, like K3B, depend on those libraries. However, I like to run a lean system, so I try to steer clear of KDE-ized apps.

I could be wrong, but aren't they already starting from the ground up with Longhorn?
Yes, but hopefully the list will grow at an ever-decreasing rate. I have been using Linux almost exclusively for about three years and I know that I've had fewer problems with hardware as time has gone on.
No, no... it still comes with white earphones :)

The only MIcrosoft product that doesn't have an exploit *yet* is their keyboard.
Thanks for the idea!

...the admins suck at virtual croquet? Then we'd have users that can't be kicked; anarchy would rule!
:)
Actually, I kind of like the idea of admining a system with a video game

My only complaint is that it's a little small...

Up here in Canada, I get most of my downloads for free :)
This could possibly be the worst viruses yet!
Even MS Word's grammar feature would have caught this one...
This is an *XBOX*, folks. It shouldn't be surprising if it can't handle a /.ing. Jokes like this don't make sense on less-than-powerful hardware.
LOL, OMG... your watch can't host websites worth a darn!

WTF? When did they... oh, wait. I thought this was Open Standards by Real... nevermind :)

Jesus Christ said that? I'm sold...
