    Three reasons actually: mind share, software sales, and they can't produce reliable hardware.

    Four reasons actually: mind share, software sales, and they can't produce reliable hardware, and they have a huge pile of cash that they might as well use to get into other markets, rather than hand straight back to their shareholders.

    This last reasons is also why we have the zune, microsoft mouse, microsoft tabletop, etc...

    Apple have done some research into this area, and concluded that the best power saving technique is to ramp the CPU up for complex tasks, then hit idle as soon as you can. Rather than dragging out the process. This sounds like what Intel is going for, with there 50 x reduction in idle draw.

    Agreed. Everytime I stop watching tv, i never miss it. I find I have loads more time, and do a lot more programming. I see people who watch tv as just wasting so much of their lives, doing nothing. But then, people would probably describe me as a work-a-holic.

    I agree, except when you say the DVD is superior in every way to Video. It is not. In video there was no portion of the movie I was forced to watch, I could skip any part, unlike the DVD which treats everyone like a criminal. Also, I could put it in, and the movie would start to play, whereas with DVDs I have to fool around with a stupid menu.

    Hi. I like it. Now you know someone. I don't like the extra space taken up by a physical keyboard. I also had a bb from work, and I did not like that keyboard, I was quicker on my regular phone. I prefer the iPhone keyboard, I don't do much typing, and I like that it takes up no space, no physical space anyway.

    Not every conference can be an iPhone conference. If you follow all the new stories before the conference, you are definitely going to be disappointed, since the rumours promise so much, but reality doesn't deliver.

    Thank you, because we all know that the government does nothing for business do they? They certainly don't build roads, electricity, fire, water, gas, police, army to protect the country. They don't provide any of that, which every fucking one of us benefits from, so why should anyone ever have to pay for that. Whatever any company pays, they get that back many times over in all the services the government supplies, to the corp and the people who work there.
