    Apple are usually quite accurate in their battery estimates, unlike very other company I have ever dealt with. They ever underestimated their performance according to some benchmarking.

    This is a valid concern, and something like this comes up every time Apple release a new device. Last time it was the glossy screens, and the fact that there was no firewire on the plain Macbooks. This is quite annoying for those loyal customers, but their share keeps on growing.

    None of these problems have been killer for me, I was annoyed about the glossy screen on my macbook pro, but that went away very quickly.

    This is so simplistic and idiotic that you should be ashamed of yourself if you are being serious. This is the first though from someone who clearly has no knowledge of the area, and hasn't though out their idea.

    The Problem is then the rest of the world start to introduce the same requirement for their goods. Imagine if the rest of the world required their OS be 70% local - no more windows, no more Intel, no more GM exports. Think about this stuff before you talk shit!

    You are severely misguided.

    The iPhone store is good and bad, you don't have complete control over what can be released, but you have the easiest and quickest way to get your application for sale and making money.

    Apple didn't move to Intel because of the openness of the architecture, but because Intel offered a better CPU for what they wanted.

    I tried to change the Power option settings on my sisters Vaio yeterday. It had only been booted that morning. It froze, and after leaving if for 5 minutes, we had to do a hard reboot. This machine was designed for Vista, and sure it is a shitty Sony, but still it shouldn't be that hard.

    Yes, this is one example, but since you are spouting nonsense about Mac OS somehow being less stable than Vista, I had to put in. This is from a guy who started out on programming dos interrupts on MS-Dos v3.3, and been developing on Windows until 3 months ago when I was given a Mac for work. There is no way I will go back.

    What an idiotic statement. So somehow Conroy, who is a misguided prick, forced Telstra to submit a joke bid of 12 pages, compared to real bids of hundreds of pages. Conroy strong armed Telstra to not mention small businesses, a major pre-requisite of the bid, and the reason they are kicked out of the process.

    Coincidence, yes.

    Their proposal was 12 pages long, compared to serious proposals of hundreds of pages. Telstra were threatening not to bid at all, unless the government gave them some guarantees that no matter who won, they would be involved in the projects.

    Telstra were pushing themselves, and the government called their bluff. They have been punished in the markets, dropping 12%, and they should be punished by the government as well.

    Really? So getting a completely new company to build infrastructure to compete with the existing broadband lines owned by telstra will somehow magically decrease competition? I think you need to go read a dictionary sometime.

    This is the best news. The only thing better would be if the government broke up Telstra into its Retail and Infrastructure business, allowing other companies to fairly compete.

    Telstra is a joke, run by incompetents who shouldn't be allowed to touch a computer, let alone decide Australias future.

    Everything you mentioned people already have for XP with 3rd party software. Yes, we realise the benefits of these, that is why we installed the software in the first place. If you didn't install the software when you had XP, then you clearly aren't a technical person. I would thus question your ability to compare the two products. Let me guess, you are a manager?

    All the managers I have seen like Vista, because they are too thick to made XP useful themselves, they need all this obvious shit installed for them by Microsoft.
