    What an ignorant statement. So if someones disagrees with you, they are illogical? What a cop out. The issue is a lot more complex than this. There are good reasons for this, and bad reasons (sure, mainly bad, but it is ignorant to pretend that there is only bad).

    Europe has its own problems. Do you know that in Germany you have to tell the government where you live. If you move, you have 2 weeks to tell them where you are now living.

    In the UK, all foreign nationals have to have an ID card that they need to carry at all times.

    In Sweden, you could only buy alcohol from Government shop, and they limited how much you could but, until recently. Now, you can only get the real stuff (not-lite beer) from Gov shops.

    That is just 3 countries that I know off.

    Computers are funny from a marketing standpoint. They are purchased by people that don't know anything about them. Sold by people that don't know much about them and supported by people that don't even speak the same language. (often literally).

    Do you really think that is different to most things out there? TVs, Fridges, Cars, Phones.

    Apple has loads of money, not on a Microsoft standard, but more than Dell.

    Dell market cap of 30b
    Apple market cap of 87b, with loads in the bank.
    Microsoft about twice as big as Apple.

    Comparing Apple and Dell is ignorant and wrong.

    Just remember, he had multiple degrees in Education - this is almost required to be an ignorant fool. Multiple degrees in disciplines that actually involve work should not be so easily looked down upon.

    A Computer Teacher does not mean a computer expert, someone who is computer literate, or even someone who likes computers. Depending on the size of your school, your computer teacher could also be your PE teacher.

    Is that an excuse for this behavior, absolutely not.

    Yes, but they don't go around confiscating discs, and writing strongly worded letters. This sounds like it actually came from Steve can-i-have-that-chair-for-a-minute Ballmer.

    Is anyone else reminded of the religous teacher confiscating a biology book from a student, and writing a letter to their pro-evolution parents?

    A big thing the second world war did for the US, was decrease the importance of Britain, and forced Britain to sell a lot of its US assets, including large amounts of land, to help fund the war. It swapped it US assets for arms manufactured in the US, and put the nails in the coffin for UK as a super power. It left Britain poor for many years, as well as the rest of Europe. The only two countries that did really well out the war were Germany and Japan, who had a lot of money spent on the them to rebuild- the Marshall plan.

    Yes, not everybody can switch, but there are plenty of people in big cities who can. If just some of these people switch, it will make a huge dent in the telcos profits, and they will suddenly care.

    It is not exclusive. Most people can concern themselves with more than one matter at a time, an amazing feat, I realise.

    The funny thing is that I see loads of stories here that nobody care about, and they get no comments. Then there is the odd story that bring out the people who feel the need to inform everyone of how little they care about the story, by actually posting on it.

    It is like the people who don't care about something, but really feel the need to make you understand that they don't care about it.

    No matter what language you choose, it all ends up as assembly language. If you want to do debugging, you will have to learn it anyway.

    No. Something that is 10 pages in Ms Office can be 8.5 pages on the exact same machine under a different printer driver. Selecting a different printer can have a huge affect on a MS word doc. Try it out, load a doc, change the printer, then quite the doc. It will ask if you want to save the changes.

    If we we disagree with one policy, we need to make this known. If enough people disagree, then the will of the people should be followed.

    No! If you are an expert, sure it makes no difference. But the road is full on incompetent drivers, who are an unlucky event away from killing someone. Increasing the speed for these people makes it more likely they will have an accident, and more likely they will kill someone.

    It is funny how drivers magically forget about all the morons on the road when they aren't behind the wheel. Most people loudly acknowledge them when they see them.

    So they start ramping up production, and producing more machine. Have you never heard of this before? Do you think there is some reason Apple can't do this, but 1000s of companies out there can? Is there some magic formula they are missing?
