    True, but it doesn't stop millions of morons driving needlessly. Plus the fact that there are so many roads in the UK, it is almost like there is a direct route to every town you could want. Somebody thought it would be a great idea to cover half the country in ugly roads, full of smelly, noisy cars...yes, that is what I want went I go to the country.

    Yes, we prefer Google here to Microsoft, we will cut them some more slack. Google hasn't burned us yet, worked actively against what we believe in and actually supports us through some of its projects. Google made webmail workable again, use Linux, create projects for Linux, etc...

    And Google do not constantly say anything about being not evil. Maybe it is just the voices in your head.

    So if I offer you $10 for your car and no one makes anymore offers, then your car is somehow worth $10???? This is idiotic.

    Yahoo believes that there company is worth more than market value, even more than market value +62%. They are choosing to to sell it as such, and will even try to convince the shareholders not to sell.

    Company's Value != what other are willing to pay for it, if you don't want to sell it.

    Yes, if everybody stopped buying anything from them, like Microsoft Windows or Office, then you would be correct.

    This is partly the problem with Monopolies, they make huge amounts of money in one market, they can unfairly influence other markets, destroying some great and worthwhile businesses.

    They mean with the support of management. If the management is against the buy out, then it is referenced as a hostile takeover, and both parties actively partition shareholders to approve/deny the takeover in a vote.

    Do you really think we have the ability to detect a tea pot orbiting Venus?? Even if we could send a probe there, it would be to difficult. And in fact, the tea pot could be orbiting Venus at several light years distance, which would make it almost impossible to detect.

    No, running as admin as defauly is the worst security decision ever, which is why they moved away from it.

    Hiding extensions is probably not that much of a problem, most people don't know what the difference between exe and jpg files means. They would still run it. All mail programs should just strip it out anyway.

    I also will occasionally check on the traffic that is outbound from my PC just to make sure something like this has not occured. This goes beyond what a regular user should be expected to do. I mean, what counts as normal traffic? This can cause problems similar to the situation where people start deleting files that they don't know about. If people start killing applications and services just becuase they are using the network, trouble won't be far behind. Anti-Virus tools will often check the network.

    I have been to France and Spain, in fact to all the countries of Europe. The French especially speak english, every school kid has 4 years at School. Very similar in Spain.

    Now in France, it might help to identify yourself as an Australian (ie, not English). And it always helps to start of the conversation in French, everybody should know a few words.

    And I am not talking about mastery, you can't have a fluent conversation with someone, but is that really the point of those dictionaries?

    There is still a reason for those dictionaries, in helping people who are trying to learn, but just not that great, due to the dominance of English.

    In fact, I have been in Spain, and met two guys talking to each other in English, one from Brazil the other from Germany. Not uncommon.

    Because everybody speaks english, at least enough to get by. Also the reasons that Languages have not been popular in English speaking countries.

    I don't see the point. All the times that I think of that I have been wet, I have never wanted to make a phone call. Even in Australia where the money is plastic so can be washed, I haven't found the need. I guess the need isn't that great. I have seen water-proof phones before, but they were pretty chunky.

    Compare it to the Oz System.

    1. Same, you get paid into your bank account.
    2. Never used cheques in oz, only started to use them in the UK. Nobody used them.
    3. ATMs are all owned by banks, and they are free for the first few transactions. Some banks charge if you go inside.
    4. You never get any interest, and banks charge you money to keep your money. So just keeping in $5000 will cost you about $5 a month. No interest.

    Google has removed the images. It may have been hard for them to get in contact with google, without sueing them, which is possbily why they did this. We will see if they drop the law suit.

    I don't really think a 2% price share reduction is much of an indication of anything, maybe in response to it not beating HP in global sales (it still leads in US sales), certainly to a reaction to it new proposal.
