Back on(ish)topic, please recommend good spyware and adware killers for the boys and girls out there (Yes, I mean me) who haven't yet got round to protecting their boxes..
IIRC, the velsatis is almost completely electronic - not to mention huge for a european car. It is entirely poss the brakes are by wire, and the gear shift possible is also not connected to the gearbox, only the interim computer.
Sadly the last point is untrue, the gearshift is direct, but the computer can lock you out of a stupid (120mph into neutral) manouver.
Also - unrelated failures? what if you only have one master control computer with modular systems running off it - failure in the master unit fscks all!
less than 14 hours after getting the phone line sorted for my new house, before I gave the number to anyone, I got a "call" from a tape machine. It claimed to be 'carol ######' from BBC radio 9, saying I'd won a prize after having entered my details into the BBC database. Need less to say, I hung up. There is no-one of that name working in the BBC, and I hadn't entered my details into any database, and as far as I'm aware, there IS NO RADIO 9!
Come the phone bill, I have accepted a reverse charges call from an organisation that doesn't exist, and am being billed £109 for the 11 or so seconds.
Shit hits fan
phone company doesn't charge me, changes my number, self is happy
Guess who call 2 days later...
shit hits fan again, after lengthy rant at phone corp, it turns out their standard contract gives them the right to sell my number to certain orgs. Since I hadn't signed a contract, I was miffed. Turns out their contract is vocal - I entered into it when I phoned and asked for a land line.
This is the same French nation the American government has such an intense hatred of?
Funny how you sever all links with a country to the extent of renaming french fries, then go crawling for help when you want your Plutonium reprocessing.
Which incidently leads me to the following -
Nation A is shipping weapons grade nuclear material to nation B, where it will be processed and returned to A
This also allows perfect Ackermann steering through drive-by-wire, four wheel steering for 5 foot turning circles, and drift steering for safe lane changing at speed. Champion idea, just incorporate the drive motor at each corner as well, power them off a super efficient diesel generator which I can swap for a decent battery when they become available and I'll buy it.
Actually, I probably won't - my last car cost £3k, and that was a stretch
xD cards are tha form factor that suits cameras, while CF suits big fingered people. SD etc is a good middle ground, but most of the space in these cards is wasted, just plastic thats easy to grip.
I love xD cards, and can carry at least half a dozen in the space of one credit card, which considering my paranoia about corrupt cards losing images, is a good thing.
Plus xD cards can and will eventually go up to 8GB - use full on a laptop etc...
Thankyou
Yes! attatch the treadmills to the propellers... oh, sorry.

Lots of heavy trucks over here use dry nitrogen, which prolongs the life of the tyre by eliminating one source of degradation.

[waves bye bye to karma]
AHH!! - his ass! - it spoke!
Also, on a purely theoretical note, if you pass red diesel through the charcoal filters found in cooker extractor hoods, the dye comes out.
The fuel tanks of any diesel cars owned by farmers are regularly checked for dye where I come from...
yes - I just watch it to read the er, sponsors...
