While we are on the subject of messenger, and bundling it with their OS.

Does anyone want to tell me why Microsoft make both MSN Messenger, and Windows Messenger? And why Windows Messenger (The featureless version) was added into WinXP and now MSN Messenger?

Call me a little biased, but I still see no problem in real life even if this was widespread. Prime time in Australia are your, Home and Away, Friends, your soap operas, renovation shows galore. Grandma's from Sydney to Perth tune in every day, and every single day for 20 years to get their fix of Bold and the Beautiful. I can say you're not going to be getting these people to Bit torrent anytime soon.

Aslong as someone is watching a show, and their will always be. Then advertisements companies will pay up the money.

Plus, afterall most of the stations money comes in on prime time live events, which afterall aren't on BitTorrent until after they are aired.

Sorry, I don't buy this crap. I used to work in Win Television (Australia's largest regional television station, 7million viewers) and I can say that privacy was not even a minor concern.

The major concern executives are having, is trying to ensure video tape operations do not put in commercials into the wrong aspect ratio, The shows airing on TV do not mean crap to the executive, it's the commercials paying his wage.

I was trained to make sure, in the worst case situation. That the commercials go to air, even if that meant the TV show itself was just one nice black screen.

    My experience?

Since installing it on my brother's computer, my Mum and Dad's c computer. I've found myself having more time to watch TV, then trying to rid their computers of adaware and trying to explain to them why hundreds of screens pop up all the time.

I am not a Windows fan by any lengths, but hey. It's saved me some hassles so I am a happy camper.

Glad to see someone doing something about it, back when I was in high school I used to sell pirated Playstation games to my friends. I was busted by the principle when a mother found her son playing a copied porn game, none the less it was traced back to me. Sony were informed, but did that care? Nope. Life went on for me, and I continued to rip of Sony many hundreds of dollars per week at the ripe age of 14. My point is now that I am 20 years old and mature, I wish Nintendo/Sony would crack down on priates a little more, as the quality in games in my opinion has dropped a lot since the introduction of CD recorders.

It's very interesting, you know why? It saves me over $1000/month on phone bills! I work for a US based company that is located in Australia. Before I was paying Hel$tra $1000US/month for all our phone calls to US/Canada and UK. Now I pay Broadvoice around $70US/month, and I get unlimited calls, I get features I didn't even know existed (E.g. Caller Name) and the best of it all, I don't have to pay Hel$tra one single cent. Also the quality over here is absolutely brilliant, and is far better then my Cell phone and local land line.

  7. Someone in Australia knows Linux? on Australian Government Agency Moves Towards Linux · · Score: -1, Flamebait

Woah! I would of never believed that someone in Australia actually knew what Linux was, let alone CenterLink. I've had my Thinkgeek Linux gear for over 1 year now, and no-one has ever noticed it - apart from one guy at the local PC shop. Maybe in the next few months if I walk around Centerlink with my top, I have a good chance of having one of the lovely looking staff taking notice of me!
