I've heard in this thread lots of complaints that (little viewed) channels like, Discovery, History and PBS would be dropped using this approach.
Wrong! These channels have huge followings as they get referred to, time and again in diverse public forums other than Slashdot.
Think about it, both SciFi and Food channel were once part of the basic Direct TV satellite package years ago until the little phone cord attached to the back of every box tattled to the marketing guru's that they were getting lots of viewer time, so they got bumped up into premium packages.
So there you are reading your favorite rag. After you turn to the next page of the article your reading and get settled in for more, an annoying flash generated addvertisment pops up, covering the page forcing it's self on you, preventing you from reading the article until it's finished.
Let's just hope this type of technology doesn't get abused.

One afternoon I was forced to follow someone off the interstate with a portable DVD player mounted on the DASH of his car! At the traffic signal I could clearly make out details of the movie he was watching. Guess what, no cops at a busy intersection at rush hour. Believe me, it did affect his driving performance.
Of course I've also passed folks using game boys, reading books, not to mention the proverbial oblivious woman doing here hair,etc.
No, maybe it is time for new competition. If Apple(Beetles) and Virgin can create a record lable why can't Microsoft, Apple(Steve), and XM radio? As I recall, the old RCA lable was created by RCA's radio station.

Sorry folks but there is one one MS Office application that has yet to be ported to OS that my customers require and that is MS Access.
I've played with many of the OS alternatives to MS Access but they fall way short of ease of use.

I worked for IBM's fab in Vermont for 15 years.
They "cheated" on Apple in the early nineties, putting PPC production on hold, at a critical time for Apple to maxamize profits on other chips.
