That's some 9mm bullet they were testing with. I haven't found one that will travel 1777 ft/sec ever. It must be +P++++
If this stuff works, will it be much cheaper? Cause I was pondering about getting some protection for my family after hearing the last batch of gun fire in the neighbourhood.
Is it just me or some people have way too much time in their hands to read and respond to blogs.
Also, why in the heck ppl expect us to know "prominent bloggers" ? Are you kidding? I can barely know my local politician and the girl on American Idol, you think I am keeping track of some wanna be attention whore posting random stuff on the net?//whew, that was a good vent, thanks for reading
Sorry, but all the years I went to school in the Southeastern US, after schooling in Asia for a while, I didn't realize we were spending any money on education.
I had an English 12 teacher complain that with her Masters degree, she was making a fraction of what her truck driver husband was making.
I know I am being a bit picky but I would be even happier about this if I could get Verizon to give me the service I used to get from my previous provider.
Examples: 1) I received an important international call and my Verizon phone dropped it. I tried to call back, only to get a message saying I can't make international calls. I call the Verizon support to add international calling to my plan (already have unlimited data/etc). They told me that even though I paid my phone bill, because I signed up in the last 90 days they couldn't let me make international calls. Geez, thanks!
2) Anytime I try to download a ringtone or something like that from their website, my blackberry is not in their list of phones to download stuff for. I had the same model BB with my last provider and I downloaded ringtones effortlessly.
3) I have a ton of calls where when I answer, either the caller can't hear me or I can't hear them. We have to call each other 2-3 more times before we get a decent connection. This happens with many different ppl I call, including other Verizon phones.
Yeah, your friends copies end up being shipped to China or some other 3rd world country and duplicated a million times and sold for $1/disc before the movie is even released.
I was quite surprised when someone brought me one of these from an overseas trip.
On a related note to the main topic, do they have health insurance covering carpel tunnel?
I have seen this story in the local news. Both me and the ball-n-chain were rolling our eyes. The police officer was pissed because the couple kept on bugging his boss with their idiotic complaint.
The speed limit in front of their house is 25 mph, coming kinda downhill. I think, in the Atlanta area where nobody drives under 50, this is just plain dumb.
They were the typical overreacting freaky parents who were making a stink out of nothing because they are a couple of those people who love to have something to complain about.
I was at my local Target store on Sunday morning around 9:15am and accidently noticed that they had 2 units for sale. I jumped on the first one and a guy behind me lifted the other. I know a couple of coworkers who are still looking for them.
First impressions was that this stuff is a lot of fun. I even enjoyed playing Golf and Baseball when I normally don't care much for those sports. Now, I am deciding which games to try next. I noticed that there are a couple of good games coming out in March. One of them is Medal of Honor. I will be definitely paying for that MoH port.
So, I would say the excitement and Magic is still there.
Same here and I live in the US. They have screwed up so many of my orders that now I just order from Barnes and Noble. BN never messed up one of my orders. Oh, and it used to be that it was impossible find the phone number for Amazon on their website.
But that wouldn't be/. way.
I suggest you look into HTML DB, http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe10gdb_vmwa re/develop/htmldb/htmldb.htm
It's exactly what you are asking for. It has a nice easy to develop front end thing with an Oracle backend. I worked with its earlier versions and you could spawn web based apps from tables in a snap.
In other news: According to this article by SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER's John Cook, MS Excel is now an "old-fashioned" database like Oracle. So, everything in this article about Tableau should be taken in context of his great understanding of databases.
God, I love it when reporters are such experts in subjects they write about.
LOL
On a somewhat unrelated note, I made the mistake of supplying my email addy to the INS (now Homeland Security?) and suddenly started to get a ton of spam from the President and his election campaign. I am not a republican (nor a democrat) and he is one of few people I have in my blocked senders list.
Let's all thank NYT for such an inaccurate article.
I have been watching Cloudscape for a while. I believe it was originally developed by a few folks who left Oracle. I am pretty sure it was the first pure-java Object-Relational database, even though Instant DB claims it was the first one. Once the folks at Cloudscape couldn't make enough sales, they sold the company to Informix. In turn, Informix was sold to IBM. IBM bundled the Cloudscape database with some of their tools such as Websphere and some obscure version of Notes. In their usual fashion IBM really didn't know what to do with such a unique product. Funny thing is that, now IBM supports Instant DB with Websphere. That decision must have came from the pointy haired boss himself.
Finally, IBM is releasing Cloudscape to Apache. As a DBA/Developer, I think a decent product like Cloudscape can really help the Apache suite of FOSS products become even more Enterprise ready.
First they came for my donuts I didn't say anything but now they come for my Cup-a-Joe!!?
My cold dead hands! I tell you!! This means WAR!!!
ps. I should probably lay off the extra caffeine in the morning

Count one more iBook G4 here going on 3.5 years without any major issues. :knock: :knock:
:p
Think I just tempted fate and my darling iBook gets the crabs tomorrow
Yes, yes, that would be fantastic. Corn syrup doesn't belong in human body. Maybe engines will be better at burning of corn extracts.

Hey, if a private firm can do the job for a fraction of the price, sure! they should be using them and save some taxpayer money in the process.
What are all those poor Turkish teens to do without YouTube to entertain them?
Oh the insanity!

OK, I'll be the one to state the obvious.
The drop in revenue most likely has more to do with the god awful quality of new music and less with any DRM.
I mean, if people like the music, they'll buy it, Apple's or M$'s DRM or not.
Personally, I haven't bought a song or a CD in months. There just hasn't been anything interesting out there, for me.
I think its Cingular who claims to have the fewest dropped calls. Verizon claims to have the largest network.

That was my next sentiment, exactly. You just worded it better.
This is one guy, but! Over the last few years, I have seen much more Linux and Unix devotees switch to Macs than Ubuntu.
That when police officers are involved in a car accident on duty, it goes on their driving record and their personal car insurance rates go way up.
Considering that they drive more miles than most drivers, its kinda unfortunate.
"Whack jobs" describes them quite well.
And about driving 25 mph, obviously you don't live anywhere close to here.
BTW, in GA (and in AL) its pretty common to create absurd speed limits just to get some revenue for the ailing local economies.

There are plenty of PS3s everywhere around here. So, a few months after the release, no drought for PS3.

Yeah, but you still have to reboot the machine everytime you install a piece of software. ;)
