... that they release this about two weeks after I'd given up and ported my GV # away. I had put up with years of MMS/SMS frustration. They must have changed their default SMS app three or four times. All my contacts had two #s for me despite me trying to do everything I possibly could to prevent that. Porting to T-mobile was such a nightmare experience (5 days, 3 hours on the phone, 2 visits to store (avoid the stores)) that I'm hesitant to port it back.
Guess I'll just get a new GV # and see if it is really going to be worth it. Can't say I really trust Google not to fuck it up (or change it often enough to be irritating) again.
mms works but not emojis...so good luck really telling what people are trying to say in 2017
i've found this to be true in almost every company that i've worked for. tech workers are looked down upon, because people only ever come to us when things go badly and most of us literally "sit on our asses", which they dont see as working. so we're seen as lazy and bad at what we do, because if we were any good at it, they wouldn't be having whatever problem they're having. the best way i've found to combat this is to be honest with your departmental managers and hope that they can spread some love
first they say pollution is bad and causes global warming. now they're saying it masks global warming? really? how can it do both at the same time? i'm getting tired of the double-speak
This is a perfect use for something like DIP Secure Browser (dipconsultants.com). It encrypt everything on disk, such as your history logs and bookmarks, there's nothing for Big Brother to see. Also, if you use it with their proxy service, all your internet traffic is also encrypted. Take a look
youtube uses flash video, and as most people know, you can view youtube videos on the iphone. so how does this make sense? it seems like jobs is saying the iphone wont support what it already supports. i dont get it
who cares? there are exactly zero phones running android in public (meaning outside of pros testing)...so how does this affect anyone? must be a slow news night

this is what desktop virtualization is *for*. use vmware workstation or virtualbox and test away!

If DARPA is now so desperate as to seek out totally random and unknown readers of slashdot...my god the US is screwed.

You need to use a proxy that encrypts all traffic to and from you and it. Try dipconsultants.com ...I use it and it's very fast.
i really hope it's a typo. it's 1.5meters...maybe it's supposed to be $4.99? :P
i use the sidekick 3, which has a ssh application. it's been great and i'd recommend it to everyone who needs remote access to a box

yes...from someone who thinks ext2 is an "OS"...uh-huh
ext2 is supported everywhere and it's far better than fat32 or ntfs. for windows, http://www.fs-driver.org/ and for osx http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fsx/
you dumbass. you have no idea what you're talking about, so why dont you just shut the fuck up?
