Unless he or she wants to marry someone with the same genitalia. Unless she wants an abortion or to even consider an abortion.. The list goes on. To be fair the democrats are merely the other side of the same coin. The two party system is a joke in the U.S. Each side works their ass off to destroy or at least paralyze the other side, with little consideration of the negative affects to the country and the vast majority of the citizens. It's all about winning and wiping out anyone who doesn't think and act like >insert major party here. As demonstrated most recently by the health care "debate".

Absolutely correct and as this industry is in extreme growth mode from almost zero, there's simply more of it's equipment being shipped. For example oil refineries; new vessels and columns, or pieces of vessels are just as difficult to transport overland, its just that many refineries are barge accessible too. And we are not building new refineries in the US.

I've had discussions with several believers along this line and these are a couple of the reasons they vehemently oppose the right of individuals to chose suicide (yes the "sanctity of human life" plays in that too but one must "never give up").

These guys and a few gals, The Reno Air racers already do something very similar to this. Numerous classes of planes inclding jets run on courses varying from 6 to 8 miles in length. They fly on the deck, by rule minimum altitude during a race is 50 feet!
As exiting as these races are for some people, it is a relativley narrow demograhic. Also the requirements for air racing tend to limit the places where it can be conducted. So sponsorship opportunities are very limited and most of the competitors pay a significant amount of their expenses out of pocket.
All this adds up to one event, albeit a week long aerial orgy, per year.
Seems like a series of rocket races might be a stretch.

The Honda Accord hybrid uses the gasoline motor as the primary motor. Honda engineers created a car that gets better (EPA) mileage and performance (as in zero to sixty and quarter mile times) than the gasoline-only version of the car.

(Personally I went with a gasoline-only 4-banger Accord, I am giving hybrid tech another 3-4 years to mature before I buy one...)

There is the possibility of an accidental launch. I'm too lazy to track them down but there are several examples of that very nearly occuring during the US / USSR cold war. That said I have a gut feeling (I Am Not A Rocket Scientist) the missle interceptor ("hitting a bullet with a bullet"), is potentially very inferior to the flying laser method that is also under development. Maybe pick one and stick with it?

FDR goaded Japan into attacking, mainly though trade restrictions, but also through covert action like the flying tigers in China.
In the Atlantic, FDR initiated the escorting of soon to be allied shipping half way across by US naval vessels, while the US was still "neutral". Not to forget lend lease muntions as mentioned in the parent. Check out Wiki And ask the Brits about "good prices".
The US was involved well before bombs fell on Pearl harbor. And rightly so. In this case a threat was correctly assessed and dealt with, albeit at a hideous cost in human lives.
So, as big a fan of most aspects of Libertarianism and a foe of GWB I may be, I have a hard time going along with what sounds like isolationism (I am not endorsing the Iraq clusterfuck).

I cringe whenever I hear the "boot up your ass" drivel, no it is not the foundation of american values but it is the work of an "anti-Dixie Chick" and right now it seems to strike a weird resonance with many americans... Not necessarily the majority. Which is scary because the majority no longer rules here.
