It has been asked before. I'm not sure if Slashdot already had an interview with some of their staff where this question was asked already, but I think there was.
Also, a german Starcraft fansite I read asked this question.
In both cases, Blizzard denied plans to support Linux - for the current (upcoming) roster of games at least. That's also why I added a "Did you change your mind about [...]" in my original question in this thread;)
Obligatory question: Did you change your mind about Linux support for any of your existing or announced games? Are new, upcoming games going to be playable on Linux natively?
Not playing any serious games on Linux boxes, but pretending to know everything about cutting edge gfx drivers and their functionality and APIs... Humm. You should maybe dive a bit deeper into Linux gaming and rethink your statements.
You could ask them if they plan to release a Linux-compatible DIII-client. Although we all know the answer - no - frequent inquiries about linux compatibility might rise an eyebrow or two. I already asked one of germany's biggest starcraft fansites to ask them about a SC2 linux client (which Blizzard denied, of course). So if even Slashdot asks about Linux compatibility, they maybe might rethink their position about linux compatibility for future games (faint hopes coming up...);)
If the SSD's price only increases very slightly with greatly increasing capacity, they already lowered the cost.
Also, it doesn't help to have cheap 32GB SSDs when nobody buys them and you can't really launch into mass production because you are stuck with a niche market. To drive down the price you need to be able to produce them en mass and in order to do that you need to catch up (or outstrip) existing technology.
There's more missing in fact. They could list the amount of WINE users playing their games on a non-windows system, emulating via WINE.
When I took the survey and browsed through the gathered information it would send to Valve, I saw that for the audio driver or chipset (don't remember exactly) it lists something like "WINE input wrapper" or something like that. This would be an easy measure to see who's using WINE and who's not.
I actually wonder if they'll also lock you out if you pay more for the game in fact. I ordered the US-import of orange box to circumvent the german censoring (no gibs 'n' blood, they're so cruel!) and also (even more than to circumvent censorship) to have a "original" Half-Life experience with English dialogues, texts, etc.
I did not rip off any money and the US dealers got their normal share of money - I'm paying about 10 Euros more for this imported version than I would pay for the German version in German stores. If they kill my serial off, I'd sue them right away if I had the money:/
Quite funny that almost everytime when "Gentoo" is the topic, all the talks and comments evolve around (pseudo-)speed, source-distribution and things like that.
The article is about internal problems, and not about how one's computer runs absolutely flawlessly, or not.
I live in Germany, my server is in Germany and my site is German aswell. Running AdSense since Dec '04, no problems so far. I even accidentially clicked on my own ads, I sent them [Google] an E-Mail, stating the time and site where I clicked them, and they just reverted the money I got from that click (and strongly advised me to never do this again;) ). That's it. It's still running.
Indeed, the rain thingy must be really cool to see.
I already thought of the oceans of methane and ethane... Damn, they must look so incredibly cool... It really makes you wanna take a bath in them.
Or... well... Probably rather not.
What about extremem movements in Fast Shooters, or games like Max Payne? What if you suddenly want to jump to the left/right? Don't think those tiles will be able to handle that:D
Or if you do a role on the ground... Wouldn't work either I guess.
I think all this could be worked out, if the field would be about 6x6m, or something like that, huge.
But not everybody is able to put such a huge field in his flat:D

This is a new theory? I read about that theory in a space documentary book when I was 9 (ten years ago).

Yea, and now try to squeeze this in a Slashdot heading ;)
It was not rare in the past, that the IT guys themselves were the thread to the company.
;)
Quite often they served the company's bandwith for warez exchange, as we all know...
lol, I've never red so much bullsh.. at once. Actually it's not even worth to be commented (Yeah, why I'm doing it then?)

Erm, do I need to understand that now? ^^
I hope some of them will be employed in Germany. We can need them! ;)
But it's really impressive... employing 330k employers... wow, respect!

Well, same possibilities for spamming, means same possibilities for Spamfilters. I know, it's only a cold comfort ;).
