I'm sorry but most people I know hear the correct lyrics for Purple Haze on that the first time.
Last time Blinded by the Light came on, I asked everyone in the room if they knew what the hell the singer was saying. Nobody could give me even a hint.
If $.10 would get me the third line of Polaris' Hey Sandy, I would gladly pay. There is only speculation on the internet and the band won't give up the secret.
Who would have thought the letters between a "less than" and "greater than" sign would be filtered out when posting in both html formatting and txt formatting.

Aw crap. I really need those genes enhanced. When's this stuff going to be ready anyways?
In Minneapolis we now have the Current. They play a wide range of music that is picked out by the DJs. There are no commercials (except one week/year) since it is run by MPR (Minnesota Public Radio). Before it existed my siblings and I would battle over which station to listen to. Now we all agree.
It doesn't include such processors as the Opteron 165. The least expensive dual core offering from AMD. What gives. Since Intel has basically faded off the performance charts entirely we should at least be able to find out how AMD will stack up against its self.
I wouldn't be put off except I don't want to make my friends dial a UK number to call me in the US and neither of those companies offer US incoming call numbers.
I initially had planned on using skype for my long distance. However I soon grew tired of being tied to the computer with a headset. While there are some ways to get a regular cordless phone to work with skype, all involve having a computer running. You can also purchase stand alone voip phones that are skype compatable for the small price of $200+.
I finally settled on buying a Sipura voip adapter and service from SIPphone. Setup was pretty easy and now instead of my $60 phone bill I have a $10 - $15 bill. After two months it paid for itself.
It wasn't relevant to my previous point but I run Solaris on one of my boxes and postgresql on another. This story is relevant to me. I was just venting about my coworkers who will tell me about shit that I know more about after they have read/.
As to your Sun moving further point, there are better indications in the news like Sun releasing Sun Studio 11 for Free. I haven't used it yet and I know it's not OSS yet but I bet it beats the pants off of eclipse + c++ plugin, kdevelop, or anjuta. This is a far better gift to open source than postgresql support, yet it probably won't receive a bit of news on/. I would submit it but that always seems useless. I don't think my article submissions ever have enough mistakes to qualify.
I always just put my holograms on my desk. If I get board of them they go near the pencils in the drawe...
Oh wait... I should read the article shouldn't I.
I think what you have run into is the slashdot nerd-ego. There are a ton of/.rs that think they are gods gift to technology. They like to hear themselves talk about "nerdy" things so they get these articles about software they will never touch and pretend to read it just hard enough so they can spout off about it to a cube neighbor.
I know at least one person will tell me about this article today and:
1) they have never set up postgresql. 2) they have never set up solaris. 3) they sure as hell havn't set up postgresql on solaris.
perhaps/. editors should have a nice article about firefox (since they released v 1.5rc3) or google (since a link "Try searching for test on Google Book Search") is now in my results or any number of other tech related happenings.
I am sorry but this is not all that surprising given the amount of anti-monopoly litigation in Europe and in the States. It cost less money to develop the code than get slapped with another huge fine.
However what if that team had decrypted a banks RSA key. Sure it may have taken 5 months and the bank may well have changed keys since. But what if they captured all the packets sent/recieved using the cracked key. I guarentee there would be a bit of useful information in them. I know I don't change account numbers / credit card numbers every 5 months.
It's being created as we speak. Check the Meta-Wiki discussions.

This app was a plugin for iTunes, so it's meant to fill in the gap for those who, legally, bought the song online.
Yeah, because my xxxx songs in itunes are purchased from the itunes store...

That's why I looked it up.

I always liked Manfred Mann's Earth Band's Blinded By the Light.
Those mysterious lyrics are:
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
This has to be the most truly misheard lyric ever.
This virus is easily ported. There is already a unix variant out.

Geeze. Obviously I need an IQ gene booster shot.

Not as endanged as proper spelling on slashdot.
Time for bed...
I suppose they are since WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY EXISTED!
Take that northern spotted owl.
Your slippery slope argument is lame. You are assuming the laws he is breaking are just and thus should be followed.
Look here and tell me scociety will fail because a one arm piano player is charging cover in Iowa.

The fear gene makes sure they stay alive.
The aging gene makes sure they die eventually.
If you turn both off you just get a dumb mouse that dies to stupidity instead of old age.

Oh well... there is always next year.
