1) The filter can be re-used many a time. So it's cheaper in the long run.
2) That's a girl?! *faints* SOMEONE forgot to run their vodka through the filter...
Does anyone recall ever actually being influenced to purchase something by an advertisement?
Companies throw masses and masses of money down these holes... are people actually so deluded as to buy their product, especially considering the stupid gimmicks that are used?
Yeah, because I see someone wearing a Coca-Cola shirt, I am going to go out and buy some Cola. Mmmhmm. Right.

What *I* find mind boggling is that people still believe that.
Or ever believed it in the first place.
Agreed about the female dwarves... the bit Gimli says about them in the second motion picture is pretty accurate.
But on the pluralisation, I'm afraid that you are wrong:
"It may be observed in this book as in The Hobbit the form dwarves is used, although the dictionaries tell us that the plural of dwarf is dwarfs. It should be dwarrows (or dwerrows)..."
So yes, while 'dwarfs' is the correct 'modern' spelling, Tolkien chose to use a more archaic form. That quote is from Appendix F-II, On Translation; take a gander at the rest of the passage for more.
