What's the point of having a kickass Linux/NVidia comp/laptop if you can't play games? Sure there's Wesnoth, Tux Racer, and thank god Doom3 came out for Linux, but Linux is still missing Counter-Strike, WoW, etc.

Linux computers can have the most incredible overclocking system but if there's nothing to use that NVidia card for, it'd be better to get a basic graphics card for your coding.

They killed Netscape earlier because of the files. Netscape had a different system of files that threatened Microsoft-proprietary formats. If programmers started developing programs for Netscape not IE, that could lead to a whole new Operating System.

Their creator? He sounds fairly religious to me.

Bush outspent Kerry by $40 million dollars. True. Look at this chart. Out of the top 10 527 advocacy groups (listed by spending) 8/10 are Democratic groups. If you go by numbers, here's how the top 15 Advocacy groups line up. Democratic Aligned $333,000,000 (333 mil) Republican Aligned $90,000,000 (90 mil) That's only the top 15. So who outspent who? The Democratic groups clearly outspent the Republican groups. Let me make a point. The Swift Boat Vets are the 7th largest advocacy group in 2004. (By spending) The 7th largest, and I dunno about you, but that's who I remember most of 2004 ads. It seems they had a lot more bang for their buck against groups like America Coming Together, who spent the most at nearly $80 million dollars, and their goal was just to oust Bush. Strictly speaking, yes, Bush outspent Kerry. But in reality, Kerry + Anti-Bush spending dwarfs "Bush & Co's" amount. http://www.opensecrets.org/527s/527cmtes.asp

Well to be completely fair to the other person, let's establish that several of these games are not made from the ground up. EA just has to either buy someone else's engine, or tweak an old game a bit.

Take Medal of Honor, for example. They bought the Quake II engine and just made a single-player.

Same with several of their sports games. They don't create a whole new game-engine, they just rehash it with new rosters, and people buy it.

(For those who don't know the story) http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A147 77-2004Oct7.html/ On the other hand, companies go through a lot to protect their trade secrets, importantly so, because innovation is the lifeblood of business. The CIA's outlook report said that foreign nations, such as Russia's are no longer spying on our weapons, but on our companies. I personally had to sign a huge legal waiver just to visit my dad in his office at Xerox. So it's easy to see why Apple is pissed off. But should their anger jail someone?
