Do you think we would have the iPhone if it wasn't for the internet?
Yes, the Internet is a good thing. That's why I'd like to see it regulated.
Do you honestly think getting the government to impose stringent regulations would make it better? Really?
Yes.
Look what the government does. It literally fucks up everything
No, it literally doesn't. My government regulated electricity works great. My government run roads work great. My government run public schools are great.
Imagine the government puts down a strict regulation that everyone has to have say 60/60 megabits per second up and down. Once you get past the "OH HELL YEAH!!!" moment, imagine what happens. Think about what would happen and the cost.
Service would improve and cost would go down. Just like our cheap, reliable electrical grid. Just like our cheap, reliable mail service.
Lots of straw man arguments. None of them have any basis in reality.
You're describing a while bunch of gadgets that use the Internet. That's nice, but as far as I can tell, completely unrelated to this discussion. The problem that I'm describing is related to net neutrality. Namely, that if we all have to rely on a single unregulated for-profit corporation for Internet, that service will certainly not improve.
I guess the idea that high taxes and reasonable regulations work pisses off the Ayn Rand-ites, so they have to constantly say that it's failing? That's some serious cognitive dissonance. You should probably get your head out of your ass. http://www.latimes.com/busines...
No, it fucking isn't. Right now, me and our company have exactly two ways to connect to the Internet (AT&T & SpectrumTimeWarner). Both are awful. They're trying to merge, so then we'd have exactly *one* for-profit company to purchase Internet access through. The Internet is not doing damn fine, and we desperately need some strong regulation in place to keep it from becoming AOL v2.
Most people today can't pull their eyes away from their gadgets for more than a few seconds. I love looking out the windows of airplanes, but I very rarely see others doing so. As long as modern people can have power for their gadget addiction, they don't care about anything else going on around them. Addiction is a serious thing, and a LOT of people are severely addicted.
From what I can tell, this is a VOIP service. In our experience in three different cities, is that VOIP sucks. It's unreliable, and at times, the quality sucks. We just reverted to all POTS lines at all of our locations in the past few months. I think the key is that VOIP is a very complicated solution to a nonexistent problem. POTS works, and works well. VOIP requires layers and layers of shit to work properly, including tons of bandwidth.
In the US, the people have been convinced that all business regulations are bad. The US is, in many ways, a pretty rotten place to live. Our infrastructure is shit. Our health care is only good if you're rich. You're more likely get shot here than in any other modern country. Poverty is rampant and extreme. Bribery is 100% legal in our government.
So yes, there are no laws restricting junk phone calls because the phone companies (of which there are really only about 3) have paid the government not to make those laws.
Shithole does it because the coal people have rowdy crowds show up to his rallies. That's the only reason. He likes "ratings", and coal people give him "the best" ratings.
... it's gonna be a Surface. Those crippled video game playing things are just toys. I want to be able to run actual programs on my tablet, not just "apps".
I agree. There are certain people, that, no matter how much you pay them, will always be living paycheck to paycheck. In our own company, I've seen people who are making 50% more than when they started, in the exact same financial situation as when they started, as well. Inputs matter, but so does what one does with that money.
OK, troll. If you want to follow the money, who has more to gain: scientists looking for research money or the fossil fuel industries?
'guidelines' to essentially force
That doesn't make sense. How do guidelines "essentially force" anything? By definition, a guideline doesn't "force" anything.

That's why they are leaving.
That's a lie. California continues to grow.
http://worldpopulationreview.c...
socialist regimes always go broke. That is happening in real time in California.
Also a lie. See last post.
If you want to discuss facts, that'd be great. All you're doing is lying.
Yup, you got it. Exactly.

You've been ingesting too much Fox News. They've been lying about California's economy for years.

Why the FUCK would a commercial aircraft be connected to the Internet? That seems like an extremely bad idea.

Fuck you, troll.
... or you can just drive and pay attention to where you're going. Crazy, I know...
The farmer's market isn't taking people's money. Amazon is the merchant.
Amazon knew what they were selling. VISA and UPS did not. Huge difference. Amazon should be held 100% responsible for the things they sell.
You don't need a platform for serving video on the internet, you know. That's why it's the Internet, and not broadcast television.

... and who is holding a gun to your head requiring you to install these applications? Do you need emergency assistance?
Yeah I can't afford to hire a lawyer for 5-9 hours every time I install an app
Then you probably shouldn't install the app, don't you think?
Yeah, it's terrible that their products are easy to use and tend to work well. Horrible.

Whether it's "TV" or a tablet or a phone or whatever, most people I know watch a shocking amount of entertainment on their screens.
I think I lost $40 once.
I've never lost cash due to forgetting a password.
