    They're all the same. I always recommend that unless you specifically need special hardware, to just get a $300-$400 refurbished laptop. The market is flooded with them.

    But that also means a significant number of people – 77,000-plus, according to SourceForge stats – have downloaded the macOS version which contains a significant bug: if Apache OpenOffice is used to create a diagram in a Calc spreadsheet, the file becomes corrupted when saved.

    Hey, Dickhead, does "ShareBlue" or "Correct the record" have their own nukes? There's a big difference between PAC's and hostile foreign nuclear nations.

  14. People are addicted to their phones/social media. I think that most people are not engaged enough to be able to interact with the Internet safely. It's a wildly powerful tool for good or stupid, and most people choose stupid, because they're lazy.

    This is not the right way to fix this problem. The right way is to have humans do this job. They're cheaper and more effective. Retail stores that don't have human employees actively working in them turn to shit very very quickly. See: most department stores in the US today.

    You need humans to not only check stock levels, but to see and fix any other problems that may be around (anything on the floor, broken something, etc.).

    If you're using them for ordering, you shouldn't. You should fix whatever's wrong with your POS system that can't track inventory levels.

    This won't work.

    Nope. If you use your income to buy additional inventory, that's taxed at the full standard income rate. 39.6%.

    But, that new inventory is "yours". You've already paid taxes on it. So theoretically, you can pull out that money tax-free (your "equity" in the company). But, unless you happen to sell your company for more than you've invested into it, you'll never see that money again.

    Capital gains get taxed at half that. It makes more financial sense to through your money into some securities than put it into your own business, on a purely short-term financial basis, at least.

    I'm in the same boat. My personal taxes are always significantly more than I take home every year. My tax bill actively encourages me NOT to reinvest in my own business. It's pretty messed up. And yes, you'll only get that equity back if you successfully sell the company. Good luck with that!

    That "study" is from the Cato Institute. I have no interest in reading the whole 52 page paper on it, but I'd take whatever Cato has to say with a grain of salt. They and other Koch-funded groups have been pushing this whole "welfare queen" narrative for decades, now.
