    Yep...The only reason anyone even remembers half the world's bbs' is because of the archive of the documentary creator Jason Scott, who runs textfiles.com. I think it's amazing that this guy took it all on himself turn preserve this for all of us. Without him, these bbs's would all be forgotten, along with the thousands of text files we used to swap on them. (which he also archived)

    Add to that a classic hacker mentality of sinking 4 years and tons of his own money into this, and textfiles.com...only to CC license and leave it free of CSS etc, hoping that enough people buy this to pay the loans off and all that.

    This guy is a geek superhero.

    I'm sure you already know that the only results Google turns up for your bbs is thanks to the archive of the documentary creator Jason Scott, who runs textfiles.com. I think it's amazing that this guy took it all on himself turn preserve this for all of us. Without him these bbs's would all be forgotten, along with the text files we used to swap on them.

    This has got to be some study steered toward a desired result. Either the scientists or the funding organization wanted this result, so they made sure it came to this conclusion.

    It is when these companys want every last penny, and DVD boxed sets of old rat pack performances, etc., go for anywhere from 22 bucks to 99 bucks.

    Even if it's a different performance and is only availible through bootleg channels (I.E. Grateful Dead), they are scared to death a fan might "get their fix" and not buy a boxed set.

    Ridiculous.

    Then you have to take into account the 70 percent that are to stupid to even realize they don't, they only think they do.

    That is because thier PC has been assimilated as part of a bot-net because the default administrator privileges when never disabled and malware was drive-by installed by exploiting Active X. A though Scan in safe mode with the running processes killed would help, but they can't fix it because "the internet is broken".

    I wouldn't exactly say this thing walked. It rolled really.

    Although this machine is really cool, It is kind of pointless to put guns on it (implying a military purpose) when enemy fighters could escape the contraption by simply fleeing over say, a parking block or curb.

    I know next to nothing about this field but wonder if it would be possible to bridge the gap in distance using using metal or ceramic nano-wires embedded on-chip for the plasmons to travel across?

    It is of course obvious to most us that this is allowed, and has been for some time. There are many people who aren't sure if this is legal or not, and as they find out it is, will begin to wonder:

    If I can rip a Song off of my compact disk, what makes it so wrong to rip one I have paid for and my kid scratched, broke, etc.

    I wonder if the major players in litigation realize that by taking these cases to court, they are hurting their cause. The more people become educated though soundbytes alone, the less power over our rights the MGM's of the world will have.
