I think not. They have to have thought up something better.
Only my extreme tenaciousness allowed me to get my rebate for a router. I had a photocopy of the reciept they lost TWICE, claiming I never sent it in. On the third time they tried to pull the old "no facsimilies" routine, but I kept at them and they relented and gave up the 30 bucks.
A richer man would have just given up. That is part of thier plan.

Lets hope a meta-mod does thier job.

Open a new window or tab, enter "about:config" to get to the configuration settings. Right-click, select "New", then "Integer", and for the name of the value type in "privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins". Set this to 2.
Voilà! The problem seems to be caused by Flash content that launches popups, and this disables that function.
This isn't chicken pox dude....Wait, even that comes back if the first case was mild.
Point is, the fact it happened once shows it can happen again, not the other way around.
I figured most readers were either:
1. Not alive to remember the congressional hearings.
or
2. From other countries.
Trust me it happened, if you are that much of "gotta see it for myself person" request the docs for yourself, under the freedom of information act.
If you are to complacent to do that here are a few FACTS:
-Public exposure of COINTELPRO happened in the early 1970s
-Congress, the courts and the mass media condemned government "intelligence abuses." Municipal police forces officially disbanded their red squads. -A new Attorney General notified past victims of COINTELPRO and issued Guidelines to limit future operations. -Top FBI officials were indicted (albeit for relatively minor offenses), two were convicted, and several others retired or resigned. -J. Edgar Hoover the egomaniacal, crudely racist and sexist founder of the FBI died, and a well known federal judge, William Webster, eventually was appointed to clean house and build a "new FBI."
Google "COINTELPRO" for a little dose of reality. If you don't want to.... It can be summed up by saying the United Staes Government was proven to have used eviction, job loss, break ins, vandalism, grand jury subpoenas, false arrests, frame- ups, and physical violence.
The above and more (according to thier own documents leaked to the press, and later further dug up under freedom of information) were threatened, instigated or directly employed, in an effort to frighten activists and disrupt their movements. Government agents either concealed their involvement or fabricated a legal pretext. In the case of the Black and Native American movements, these assaults, including outright political assassinations, were so extensive and vicious that they amounted to terrorism on the part of the government.
Congress admitted as much and shut down the COINTELPRO (Counter-Intelligence Program)after the leaked documents went public.
This makes perfect sense for Google. I would expect the Urchin software to begin "recommending" the use of a larger adsense/adwords campaign very soon, and that means a bigger war chest for Google.
I just went to the U.S Post Office in Connecticut and upon seeing my "See ID" they refused to take the card, saying that the card must be signed with a valid signature. I have been writing that for years now and hardly anyone looks, the few that do don't bother asking for said ID.
This is the first time I have ever been denied because of it, though I have matching ID. Is that even legal? Who was right in this case Slashdot lawyers?
In case they get Slashdot...

Saudi Diplomat Defects to France
Saturday, 19 March 2005
Washington DC - A Saudi diplomat defected to France Thursday, according to the diplomat who issued a statement on the first anniversary of the reformers arrest last year.
Ahmed Bin Jaza Al-Shaikh, the second secretary at the Saudi Mission to the United Nations in Geneva told the Saudi Institute from Paris he defected to protest the Saudi government oppressive polices against reformers and democratic activists.
Al-Shaikh called for a fully elected parliament with real powers in order to curb massive official corruption and to ensure the human rights f the population, and their rights for free expression.
It probably has everything to do with the penalty of being caught. It isn't like the Saudi Riyal has a lot of value like a Euro, it's only worth a quarter dollar.
What are the odds that out the 24 contestants one hailed from a local high school. Now, what are the odds that the contest had "many local high school students"?
It really took guts for them to stand up to this, and I wonder if there will be fallout for them the rest of the world will never hear. It says they were merely dismissed, but can you trust that infomation?
When Linux becomes mainstream, your kidding yourself if you think people will be doing thier own installs. Just like XP now, Dell,Gateway or HP will be. The user will be given a crippled "recovery disc"
Dude...if a 19 year old sleeps with a 15 year old the law can hit like a hammer. I went to high school with a guy in Port Saint Lucie Florida.
He was gay, I never knew him that well but we had a lot classes together in middle school. When I was 20 I opened up the front page of the paper to find out that he had been arrested for molestation or whatever the charge was. He had an orgy after getting drunk with an 17 year old girl and 2 boys ages 15 and 16.
He was 19 at the time of the offense. The 16 and 17 year were a charge for him, which was bad enough I'm sure, though I have no idea of the penalty. That 15 year old boy however, was the charge that hurt him. Something about 15 or under in Florida law.
The law so no difference between what happened with those partying teenagers, then a 45 year old man forcefully raping a 10 year girl. To me that is insane. I don't know what you should do with the 45 year old in that case, not up to me it's up to the Judge. I know Jeremy didn't deserve what he got though.
I think it's shitty that G4 (Comcast) accepts advertising dollars from eAcceleration and thier Veloz/StopSign Malware. I saw a commercial for it during what will probably be one of the last few episodes of "Unscrewed". Imagine the feeling a company like Nvidia gets when thier ad is sandwiched between an ad that starts with "Your computer is infected with spyware" and then followed by Kevin Perreria mocking Kevin Rose and calling him "so leet" and by his last name for the remainder of the show. Kevin Rose is far from my hero, but cmon, the guy knows his shit, posted the D.H.S report for everyone, and deserves better than to be called "sooooo 1337"
I am an athesist who disagrees with most of the popes views.
So, I hate to say this, but the parent kinda has a point.
Lets hope so....
I hope my bible thumping relatives don't trump my wife's say when he day rolls around.
I have to get back to reciting now
I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of Jesusland.
And to the haughty moral values for which it stands.......
Exactly, that was what I meant to the letter. You took that and expounded it better than I did though.

Bullshit v2.0 No one would give Math a whole month.
I will run mine with verbosity turned way down and bitterness turned way up...Just like the real me!
Do you believe in reincarnation?
Is this Rodney Dangerfield reincarnated as "The IT Guy"?

I went to his site and checked the showtimes, hopefully they just aren't all there yet.
Or maybe, Bill Nye is on 4 stations in Georgia, and none in the northeast.

There's no way it will be over on May 15th, not when the movie gets released on the 19th nationwide.
