When ever someone has to say "at least they" then you know things are bad, also what makes you think this guy will be able to do anything of value? The Bush administration is designed against that, and I have yet to see anything good come out of this administration...oh sure they tell you all the great things they are doing...but look a little closer and you may find your self saying "at least they...."
Why can't anyone release a piece of hardware/software that actually does what people want and doesn't cost an arm and a leg or as in this case doesn't seem worth even looking into? I want a light laptop that is always connected via cell network or wireless and has a decent sized screen, is easy to update (RAM, hard drive, software, modular hardware components) AND CAN BE UPDATED. Then I want a connection plan that doesn't rape my wallet when I send an email.
With out fail everything I have looked at sucks in its implementation, or is way overpriced (like the cell phone companies data plans).
It seems like there are some ripe opportunities for some bright group put there...
All these things and more should be the straw that broke the camels back...or the last idiot idea from M$ to break the consumers balls. Either way they obviously took the wrong path.
Does anyone really care about eye candy? I use XP and I have all "eye candy" shut off, no themes etc.
The compromise provided will be a weak encryption, anything stronger will be made illegal. Have doubts to this or any other fucked up thing a corporation can do to you? Then look at what's going on with corporations getting towns and local banned form makign their own ISP's
People are skitish after the Inet bubble "popped" and Googles stock is quite high (perhaps unrealistically high)people will bail because they think the stock is ready to drop, not because Google said no to the Feds.
I disagree, because at school all I see is Apple laptops everywhere, in fact that's "The" thing to own (besides the iPOD (Ipod?) any hoo, while Apple may not "destroy" M$ it's quite clear M$ "doesn't get it" and Apple appeals to users for its style and the fact that people like to feel trendy/superior/classy/different. The average user of a computer doesn't know or care about technical details they just want "cool", and the average driver may buy a Porsche but doesn't drive it any different than they do a Toyota so what's the point? Well it's how they feel about it while driving, Apple gets this M$ does not. I think Apples share will grow and M$'s will diminish, as I said M$ is an anachronism.
For the record, I use Windows XP stripped to the bone with nLite and run firefox 1.5, thunderbird, gimp, and open office.
That's the extent of my "l33t" speak, basically OSX on (hopefully) affordable Intel hardware spells doomy woomy for M$, last I checked OSX wasn't bothered by to many virii (viruses?) and hackers, and the few that were bugging (pun intended) were getting in thru M$ office suite (tee hee).
I used to like M$, yes I know that's blasphemy here but I did, I now see them for what they are, an anachronism.
Now if only Open Office would boot faster on my PC...
As soon as people have to pay for it 80% of the software houses out there will dry up and blow away. Software pricing is heinous as is music and video pricing.
Lower the price and people won't really need to or want to pirate software.
I use Nuendo for professional music recording and even though their latest version says it's HT aware, the performance is poor. In fact in several instances it only takes a few instruments loaded for it to peak CPU, change it back to basic CPU with HT off and it works fine. MY understanding is it's this way with Cubase as well.
NO hard drive, it should have a removable hard drive with at least 40 gigs of storage. The only thing on it that I like is the screen size. What a waste without a large capacity HD.
OK, so once they get this done where is the last bastion of free speech? Can you afford air time? Can you get your book distributed? This is one of the greatest things about the Inet, sure we all know this but what I want to know is "what's left" and "when are we going to do something about it"
Is this a response to the Google plans and various other implimentations of free wireless? These legislators have gotten downright dangerous, I also wonder, how uesful is an open network for hacking? If you were up to no good is an open AP the way to do it?
Not TV, though the change over to p2p episodes was not noticeable, then one day I realized I haven't watched TV in *years* other than while visiting someone's house. I don't even use the TV to watch DVD's it's all on the computer now. No ad's, and fast downloads.
I think I would pay for something like cable but only with the channels you want. What's the next best thing? Just pay for the shows you want to download...how much? What's a 150 channels of 30 minutes shows on 24 hours a day spread over a month divided by the amount you pay for cable? I don't do math my computer does...but like pennies a show? Sign me up.
Why don't *they* (MPAA ETC) use BT to their advantage and get on the bandwagon. Their day of controlling content is over, no matter how harsh they make the laws.

Yeah....cancer, ok this employees got cancer lets slate him for lay offs as soon as possible.
Look at what piracy did for M$.
Why use this windows crap when PGP is free and available? (though whole disk encyption is pay per view)
Isn't this called a "joystick"?
No really...cool...now fill it with a non conducting cooled liquid.

Bush is screwing up again...quick what can we flood the media with to cover it up.

Or SAP, (snicker) seems like M$ is one of those problems that fixes it's self...now if only I could get the admins at my college to use *nix
A Canadian inventor killed for no apparant reason, Canada is once again urged to get on board with te USA's terror war.
Actually I did...it was a radium dial =)
Why didn't i think of that?
