    Nothing happens next, none of those cases that were up for decision including: deporting 5 million illegals, abortions, etc will be decided this year, and there's a good chance that 2 more may die soon (consider Ruth's age and frailty).
    The Republicans will not allow Obama to appoint one in his term, they will block it until the next president.

    And who ever is the next POTUS may get to decide up to 3 replacements.
    So now is the time to really, really study who you want to vote for... or if you don't do that then please don't vote.

    So vote for Bernie, because we know what Clinton is, and we know what the other candidates are.
    More of the same sewage, so lets make it interesting (not in the Chinese curse sense) and put someone odd in there.

    It would be cool if people annoyed by this behavior had a central web site to get together.
    Then maybe we could dictate to corporations how they should behave, under the threat of consumers no longer using their products.

    So if this web site did exist, and enough people joined it, then perhaps email campaigns refusing to use hertz rentals until they reverse this decision might have an impact.

    If enough indicate they will refuse to use hertz, then hertz would comply with the demands or go out of business.

    IMO this is exactly how corporations should be treated, the very second they cross the line stop using their products (I've been doing this for years).
    Don't worry about jobs lost, because someone else will fill the spot and comply.

    You're horribly naive, the first thing you should consider is who actually controls these things.
    A very small group of people that have proven themselves to psychopaths/sociopaths.

    So what "you're OK with" is the idea that a small group of people can control and deploy autonomous weapons against anyone, including their own people.

    Take a look at the US leadership and how it behaves overseas (not to mention locally).
    If you ask moi the USA is the threat, this country's leadership is a threat to humanity, and giving them control of fully autonomous weapons would be the very last thing you would do.

    They absolutely did, in the same way they used lawyers in certain cases to defend Google Glass and driving.

    My thoughts on this is that you lose your "independence" to a degree, no more travelling via car without a record of it.
    No more going where you want, as the car may be GPS fenced and simple refuse to take you.

    And what would the roads be like with 50% human drivers and 50% autonomous machine drivers?
    It's been stated that the accidents occurring are because robot cars drive substantially different from a human, making them difficult to predict (for humans) and drive near.
