When corporations run things and the only thing that matters is the bottom line.
I wish we could crowd source corporate control, in this case getting as many people as possible to cancel their Netflix accounts with the explanation "We don't like the way you do business".
Isn't everyone using them? I do 3D and the one drag about 3D is render time, I have a piece of software that uses the GPU and I am able to get a decent render in real time. Premiere and AfterFX run much better and quite often real time renders too. The way GPU's work seems to be the future, so I am puzzled why it isn't more prevalent, and I'm sure there is some technical reason I'm not aware of... right?
It's worse than that, you get pulled over by a cop they run your license and it comes back as "pirate" and "copyright infringement" which by this time is such a serious crime because the FBI and DoD privatized their data and now it's copy written.... for national security.
"He also managed the staff that produced the Presidential Daily Briefings for President George W. Bush. Morell was Bush’s briefer during the September 11, 2001 attacks, and has been quoted as saying, "I would bet every dollar I have that it’s al Qaeda."
So this was one of the people, that ignored the 9/11 warnings, and then went even farther to lie about who did it.
"Anything 'prepared by an officer or employee of the United States government as part of that person's official duties' is not subject to copyright in the United States."
But if the data is sent to a private company who then processes it does that still apply. Because the DoD is doing exactly that.
This touches on the effects, Hollywood was apparently worried that the original plan for 60 fps in theatres looked to "realistic" and would put audiences off. http://clockworkbrothers.com/?p=1836
That's just it, I looked for it again and couldn't find it, but there are quite a few articles on HFR film and video on Google (mostly Hobbit). But none that suggested the implications of the one I read. The suggestion was because this frame rate increase invoked the the reactions it did that it might be dangerous (to someone with a weak heart) and also that it might be useful as a "suggestive influence" (brain washing?) and advertising (lol are those different things?)
The frame rates were far higher than 48, some were recorded as high as 800 fps, and would be played back at that speed as well.
I'm disappointed because now I am interested in seeing who did the study and how I feel about the validity of it.
I read a psyche study on the effects of high frame rates, something above a certain frame rate had an effect on the brain in that it could not distinguish between what was on the screen and real life. Now obviously you know it's a movie, but it did things to heart rate etc, the consensus was that high frame rates have a variety of effects on the mind.
That attitude right there takes you off my "A" list.
Or stop sitting on your ass watching TV waiting to be "entertained" and do something meaningful.

When you make a profit it is accepted.

I have one, 2009 Macbook pro, bought it when I worked at Apple so I got it at ~$1000 (fully stocked too).
Would I pay list price? Fuck no.
Or you could buy a olive bucket shove a motherboard in it and call happy crappy.
^...
Why buy Apple?
Over priced, limited upgrade options, and Adobe Première trumps Final cut, Apples music software is crap.
Why buy Apple?
The next shooting I read about involves a Glasshole on the wrong end.
if there's a fight or an accident people don't help any more they pull out their phones and viddy it, modern media + youth = sociopathy

Straight to work camp.
Well... to be fair the "terrorist" that the FBI groomed, armed then arrested are that stupid.

Then the next thing they will do is increase penalties for copyright violations for "national security".
I'm referring to the DoD using a private company for their video and photo storage, same issue less accessibility.

Expensive period.
None of your hardware can be trusted any longer, your apartment is bugged, and man do I feel for you having to clean it up.
They film effects sequences at 120, the study I'm talking about had rates as high as 800.
I wouldn't be in rush to embrace anything that may brainwash you more than you already are.

This is off topic, but imagine if the study I mentioned was true and then you showed people ultra violent TV shows at ultra high frame rates.

I digress.

I've been saying for decades "deregulation and privatization" will only hurt the public in the end.
You guys do remember the weather company that got it's data form the governments weather stations and then tried to resell it to the public.
It should be North and South, split it just North of Los Angeles.
