  4. Space Debris? on The United States Space Arsenal · · Score: -1

I was reading about the space debris produced by the destruction of a satelite, and i was thinking something...

Imagine the low earth orbit filled with small pieces (most of em metallic).
If you want a to clean space from debris...you need something that modifies the orbit of as many objects as posible...

so..what happen if you have the next design?:

An array of small satellites (reinforced to resist collisions), using a big powersource (a small nuclear plant may be).
the satellites are arranged in a way that form a circle.

Then You produce a highly directed, low frequency, strong radio signal, in a way that it interferes constructively with the other satellites, ,with the correct variation of frequency and twist of the antenae on every satellite, you can form a sort of magnetic lens that focus the debris to a small zone (like a glass lens focusing light to a paper).

working that way, you probably will only get pieces of certain momentum to the recollection zone, but you can gradually modify the lens strength by modifiying the signal and progresively clean objects with bigger and bigger momentum (of course there wll be a limit) or have an array of recollectors in diferent focus zones for diferent momentums.

so, the debris that fall in the lens, can be deflected in a controlled way to a desired zone, on there you can put a relatively small container to catch the debris (just small metallic pieces) or to another array of satellites to focus more the debris...

Is just an idea... (may be a matlab simulation will be good to test it, but may be later) ... :)

    Interesting:

since i was a child, i noticed that i can say when certain electrodomestics were working: tv, video, refrigerator,etc...

i maked some experiments long time ago( that scared my parents as hell :)

i asked my father to switch on and off a tv (with no sound) and i tell from outside the house if is working or not. The result was that i can tell from 20 tests, in 20 of them i can tell if it was on or off ( my father randomly choose a state with a coin toss and tell me to say if it was on or off).

i tested covering my ears with cotton or something absorbent, but only decreased the sensitivity, so i deduced the detection system was sound based ( i was like 16 years old (like 10 years ago), so may me my deduction was incorrect).

The same happen to me when i was exposed to certain frequencies....may be are harmonics (i tried 100kH sounds and i can hear some of the nearby frequencies, but i cant hear some lower...)

is interesting to see that other people experiment the same :)

because i was thinking.... what happend if i super cool a group of mesons and put them in a singnal with 3x10^12 (3 trillion)Hz to move them away if they are of the same type, and collide em if they are of the opposite.... you wouldnt get some kind of weird self consuming reactor?
