I bought my Nook Color 3 years ago. It's nice to have a device still supported by someone so long after being released. While B&N never updated it, the devs have all done well supporting it on CyanogenMod.
Commodore International went bancrupt in 1994. It was bought by Escom which also went bankrupt in 1996. In September 1997, the Commodore brand name was acquired by Dutch computer maker Tulip Computers NV. In late 2004, Tulip sold the Commodore name to Yeahronimo Media Ventures. Yeahronimo Media Ventures soon renamed itself to Commodore International Corporation. On June 24, 2009, CIC renamed itself to Reunite Investments. CIC's founder, Ben van Wijhe, bought a Hong Kong-based company called Asiarim, and Asiarim purchased the Commodore brand from Reunite. Asiarim then changed its name to Commodore Holdings Corporation.
Ownership of the Amiga line passed through a few companies, from Escom of Germany in 1995, and then to U.S. PC clone maker Gateway in 1997, before an exclusive lifetime license was made to Amiga, Inc. in 2000. On March 15, 2004, Amiga, Inc. announced that on April 23, 2003 it had transferred its rights over Amiga OS to Itec, LLC, later acquired by KMOS, Inc. On March 16, 2005, KMOS, Inc. announced it's change of corporate name to Amiga, Inc.
Commodore USA, LLC was founded in April 2010. Commodore USA licensed the Commodore brand from Commodore Licensing BV on August 25, 2010 and the Amiga brand from Amiga, Inc. on August 31, 2010.
TL;DR This is not the Commodore International you knew and loved.
You can opt out of data sharing globally on Google. This seems the best policy for those concerned with privacy. I really don't see the benefit to privacy of opting out on one service and not another. I would also imagine that would become a tangle to code around.
You can still opt out of the data sharing. In addition you can remove Google+ from search results. As far as Google+ it self as long as you don't enter data there is nothing really there.
We all don't know whether or not Lyonnaise de Garantie are crooks but we do know that they tried to censor the web to remove any connection between lyonnaise-de-garantie.com and crooks or escroc. We assume Lyonnaise de Garantie are not crooks, although we haven't yet seen proof that they aren't. Some people say that the cover-up effort was successful.
It makes me smile every time I get that USAA deposit back for profits they make in a year. It's a nice little distribution model to give back to USAA members.
They also offer auto/home/rental insurance with some good multi policy discounts.
I'm a current NC w/ CM7 owner myself. I currently use my device while deployed in Afganistan. While I obviously get some net access it is infrequent enough to make cloud centric devices useless to me. If I can install CM7 on the new NC and it has that much expanded storage... well I would find it tempting to upgrade.
I would place it even with Raiders of the Lost Ark for violence. Examples include people getting shot or stabbed with little blood to total body vaporization weapons. The bloodiest scene is from the goon going through the propeller but you see it more as before and after.
As far as profanity there are uses of hell and damn but I believe that is par for the course depicting who they were.
Sexiness rating is some cleavage and two kisses. Ultra mild in that area.
The quotes that stick out to me were more for displaying the depth of Steve Rogers character.
Jumps on a grenade and then realizes it doesn't go off:
Captain America/Steve Rogers: Is this a test?
Steve Rogers: "Why me?"
Dr. Abraham Erskine: "...because a weak man knows the value of strength, the value of power..."
Red Skull: What makes you so special?
Steve Rogers / Captain America: Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn.
I thought the summary did pretty well as it used most of your quoted text. I know this is Slashdot but people should at least read the summary before posting.
Reading through his post it shouldn't have taken more than half an hour from start to loaded ROM. Any other time would have been time just spent messing with his phone. It's not like he designed his own custom rom or something.
Even on a new phone I would recommend loading CM7.
DRM != Proprietary .mobi is based on an open format but with proprietary extensions. It is just easy to convert from an open format to proprietary in this case.
I actually leave Trapster running with my phone in it's GPS cradle. Then it beeps and lets me know that I am approaching a traffic enforcement point, school zone or red light camera or any of the other helpful warnings it also gives me. It acts as a great safety mechanism to help me watch out for potential road hazards... including the police.
Just was testing and that's about what I was getting on my NookColor. Though the lack of a physical keyboard was an issue... I just wanted to check if it would run at all.
Works great on my NookColor with Phiremod based on CM7.
It also works great on my LG Optimus S with CM7.
Both are unsupported and ones an ereader, the other a low end free Android phone. By running well on this I think it shows how wide the range of hardware it can really run on.

Good security practices will protect from either threat. It doesn’t really matter the vector in this case.
My Sprint plan is still unlimited... for now.

They all sound like utilities on top of Linux. An area completely legal to run proprietary software on.

So far I have 1,916 of 2,828 songs uploaded to Google music.
I'm interested to see how often my phone will need to buffer while in normal use.
Considering they used DVD as opposed to Blueray as the reference point.... you can see what they did there.
GE also received some forms of help. http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2008/11/12/fdic-to-back-139-billion-in-ge-capital-debt/

I get annoyed at the overuse of the term "jailbreak" in the context of Android devices. I just feel it's not all that accurate of a description.

Except when they have their turn signal on. There are only so many ways to visually communicate in a car.

But when I use earplugs or my in-ear phones without electronic device as ear plugs, then that is okay? Because that has been what I have been doing.

76 pin connector. It was two bucks for me and made my console work like brand new. Extremely easy repair also.
