The PSP has region locking for movies (at the very least) and the DSi has it for on-line content - there's no clear winner here.
As far as the PS3, the issue is that Sony have been consistently removing features since launch - not just as hardware revisions, but removing features through mandatory (if you want to go online / play recent games) firmware upgrades - and THAT is something that neither MS nor Nintendo have done.
It was said - by one of the villains - in the context of describing the perfect government (along with providing "a chicken for every pot") - it's MEANT to be a good thing even though the character talking isn't.
Better than 3/4 of all Japanese people live in Tokyo and the surrounding cities (which are just as crowded) - it's an even worse population equality than, say, the UK (where something like 2/3 of the population live within an hour's drive of London) - all those other cities? they're dying ghost-towns, they don't count.
The porn games that get localised aren't indie - not in the way that this game is - they're available at normal games shops / electronics shops rather than in specialist indie games/comics shops or at events.
There are a bunch of indie porn games too, but they're almost all parodies of established properties, so could never get released overseas
It's far more accurate to say that most of the sex in Japanese erotic media released in the US is rape. That perhaps says more about America than Japan.
Typical for weeaboos.
EOCS is merely one group of (self)18-rated PC game producing companies - they've done things like ban having characters under 18 before, which lead to a huge number of companies leaving.
I'm also trying to work out what the difference between "eroge" and "dating simulators" is - the submitter probablys means girl-games (garuge) i.e. games with a strong romantic component to them. Romance and pornography are in no way related in the Japanese markets - there are plenty of games that focus on sex and eroticism with no story component - as far as I know this includes all of Illusion's games.
Wonder if this will lead me to being quoted in a (major?) US newspaper as an expert on Japanse video games again...
You should have looked a little more - it's a joke by British comedian Marcus Brigstocke - the kids that grew up on Pacman were still kids in 1989 (and there's no record of someome called Kristian Wilson working for Nintendo)
erm. When people are talking about 2chan here they mean 2ch not 2chan (long story) - 4chan is a clone of 2chan (pic boards) not 2ch (text only). 2ch is read as "2chan" and 2chan read as "futaba"...
Actually, she increased spending on the NHS at higher-than-inflation rates. The privatisation of BT, water, gas, electicity, trains, etc - those were all clusterfucks though.
No, the problem is just that fansub viewers really AREN'T discriminating - and speak an absolutely neligable amount of Japanese. Hell, #anime-junkies remained a massively popular group even after their "naked child events" masterpiece.
If you had BS or CS you'd not have that problem - pay TV in Japan is pretty close to the US schedules (and BS-2 are now up-to-date with the new Who, after a really late start...)
Argh - forgot to mention. The US has a tiny tiny fraction of the global market for smartphones (or even just high-end phones) which should mean there's less customer buy-in to overcome. It's much easier and cheaper to enter a new market than a (somewhat) mature one.

"kyaburetaa" I think you'll find

Perhaps they can't "Handel" modern graphics hardware - what I want to know is if they can Bach it or not

Latin wasn't your strongest subject in school, was it?

There is, and it's called CERO - though it avoids rating PC games entirely.
Apple customers perhaps? You seem to have forgotten just how backwards MacOS got before the OSX re-boot.
You'll be glad to know that the production staff for the B7 remake are the same people who made Hex
For what it's worth, the US site are all just as guilty of blocking non-American IP addresses.
He means 7 OR 12 inch single.
Excellent quality control like making sure the parent directory ISN'T deleted if you install the game in anything other than the default?
That's actually a feature I remember MS talking about when they first rolled out Live for the original X-Box. No idea why it hasn't happened yet.
Perhaps they drink to try to forget the crushing burden of loans they'll be saddled with (Loans the boomers never had to face, of course)
From the perspective of a typical Daily Telegraph reader, they're all "youngsters", so there's no point in making a distinction.

They show it on TVK - no idea what series though.
