My clothes drier died a few years ago, replaced with rope between trees, the cost of 230V/50A for an hour, the rope paid for itself in under a month and is "completely off" grid...
Not geeky, but works...
As a part time photographer, I see this as another reason to thrown in the towel.
So following this line of logic I can not take a picture of my are to be used to sell said car?
This sh!t makes my head hurt, and it is only Monday....
I gave up listening to music terrestrial radio a while ago, the white knuckle payola rotation of pop-tart based music sicken me...
Have iPod, will travel...
I would agree, Sony was once a great company, I am now Sony free, so the new plasma will not be Sony, the HD video camera will not be Sony, The music I buy will not be Sony...
Sony you are no longer welcome in my wallet
The world of pro/semi photography has moved on to tools like Aperture/Lightroom. When you are shooting hundreds images working with them in PS or Gimp is far too time/labor intensive. With the next generation for tools I can efficiently deal with hundreds/thousands of image to grade and quick edit images then if required do fine editing with PS/Gimp.
Simply no longer consume there "products". Be even a bigger pain in the arse and tell them you will no longer consume there products, encourage others to no longer consume there products...
I have been doing this for 4+ years. I started as a contractor as a developer, they did not have a machine for me to use that day so I used my UNIX based laptop, I was able to print, share files and send receive emails. I have been doing this for years. I was using the other OS version Microsoft Office but when my laptop died I became MS free and loaded NeoOffice. The most common idea is that my flavor of OS is only for making pretty pictures. The out of the box OS flavor I have has most the tools I need to get my job done with out have to license 3rd party software. The other tools I use are made by small companies that charge a reasonable price for there tools. I never really tell any one what I am doing. One of the main reason I keep it this way is I have full control of my machine in any environment, the work supplied laptops are old and we are not allow to have admin rights, this is a good thing for an average office work but a nightmare if you are a field engineer on the other side of the world. Also the managers have disabled the DVD player in the work suppled laptop, this is a problem when most training videos are on DVD.
The key is not to be a smug A hole, just do your job and let others do there...
I travel a great for work, I have been working in Europe for since August of last year. The US is becoming more and more of a police state/Big Brother. Reading the papers from non US sources has really opened my eyes to how bad things are getting in the US. I love the US but the desire to live some other place grows a little every day when I read the new about how the US government is willing to toss aside freedom, real freedom in the name safety. I feel safer in Bonn Germany that in the US. I feel safer in the streets of Belo Horizonte Brazil than in my own home in the US. Fear and ignorance are growing uncheck every day by the terror mongering news outlets and government. The government breeds fear so they can protect use from the those fears.
According to the Pastafarian belief system, pirates are "absolute divine beings" and the original Pastafarians. Their image as "thieves and outcasts" is all misinformation spread by Christian theologians of the Middle Ages. In reality, Pastafarianism says that they were "peace-loving explorers and spreaders of good will" who would distribute candy to children.
where is that mound of fire ants that bit me @ the last BBQ.....

The same thinking can be applied to the idea that spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat...
to me it sounds like buying a car that has a V-8 but since I only paid the V-6 price I missing 2 cylinders.

Instead of consuming more (power/electricity) why not consume less? Ditch the CRT for flat panels, ride a bike or hell even walk to the shop?
Sounds like some web monkey needs a beating....
Must have some really good drugs in the Ivory Tower...

I am in the market to get a new TV, I ruled out anything from Sony. Was looking @ getting a HD video camera, not looking @ Sony products.
