    Does it have to be 120VAC 60Hz?
    I know inverters lose energy in the conversion, but could not DC at *some* voltage be usable/efficient enough to make this worthwhile for examination/exploration?

    I am just asking, 'cause I am out of my area of expertise here, and am probably off course if it hasn't been done yet....just curious.

    Maybe it's more efficient to use *n*VAC and not convert to DC, or to optimise VAC to the engine?
    On the surface, to a layman, this may seem possible...or I am truly over my head here and clueless. If so, please throw me a bone/clue!

    For some reason, my comments are 'normal' here...but only recently on 'idle' comments.
    Well, actually this is the first time they appeared normal on /.'s page.

    All I can do to help is give you my spec's:
    Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.14) Gecko/2009090216 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.0.14.....using NoScript, Adblock Plus, and OldBar extensions.

    I still get the narrow comments box, but my posts seem to wrap correctly anyhow.?!?

    Would that enable the potential to 'install' an atmosphere there and keep it? [given a practical way to do so in the near future]
    If so, that would be way too cool! [pun not intended, implied, nor endorsed...YMMV]

    My understanding of the whole magnetic field around a planetary body/moon is that the MF is what enables the keeping/holding an atmosphere...using Mars as an example.

    I am open for corrections and education on this...it seems too simple, but...

    I was wondering the same, and wish you had been answered by someone not trying to be a comedic assclown.
    I would think this possible, but not have went past installing Firefox Portable on my U3 Sandisk 4GB USB drive, and using that at work.(WinXP/IE7 environment)

    I would love to be able to go in to work, plug my USB drive into the PC, and have U3 load Kubuntu 9.04 with my current pref's and config's from home...even if I had to reboot Windows.

    Instead of 'RTFM-n00bs' flames, give up some FOSS love and goodness for your future generations, Peace!

    Texting while driving has a chance of being bad when you do it. It doesn't have a bad outcome every time.

    Same for Russian Roulette, but at least with Russian Roulette, no one but the idiot playing it is at risk.
    Texting/phone use while driving also affects others without their consent. That is unacceptable no matter how you try to sugar coat it.
