Survival Quest (The Way of the Shaman: Book #1) is a good fun LitRPG. I've gone through the other books in the series with English translations. I'm eager for the remainder of the books to be translated to English.
Those dreamcast VMUs didn't weigh much. I don't recall anything cool going on them. Did Skies of Arcadia utilize it a little... hrm... Nintendo already copied the playable VMU things a bit with the GBA connectors to the GameCube. It was the only way to play multi-player in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
What I want to know is can I just carry the controller around and play mini-games on it then synch with the main console later?
I don't understand why people want to compare his value with an outside contractor since they'd be doing the same job. I thought the objective of the exercise was to determine how much value the things he does brings to the company. If you compare with what it costs to bring in an outside guy to fix say a printer problem that doesn't help you know how much fixing a printer problem is really worth that only lets you know how much it would cost someone else to do the same job.
The only logical approach I can see is to find out what it costs the company if the the printer doesn't get fixed; but that brings us to a number that no manager wants to hear so they may be content to go with valuing the work as the price to have the lowest bidder do the same task.
I think the bottom line is that yes your job is that critical but so are a dozen or more other positions at your company which makes the whole exercise a waste of time.
I don't know what this CU and NGE stuff you speak of is.
I played SWG when it first came out. It was fun. I liked setting up the various mineral mining things and going back later to collect my loot. Crafting was fun. The combat was wonky; so I didn't get into it much. Having entertainers help you recover was pretty smooth.
It was fun. I liked it. I got busy doing other stuff and didn't play for a while. I came back. So many things worked sooo differently than before I just said forget this.
Offer the service on the site as you suggested. After some time period assign weights based on what the people using the site used. Tada! Maybe then you get a list worth printing?
When I'm playing a single player video game who's late game depends on me doing well early game. If I totally botch up the early game, I wont usually try to play the later part of the game "gimped". Instead I simply start over.
So I'm with one of the previous posters, let's give them a chance to catch up at a penalty as not to devalue the achievements of others. Just giving them a score they didn't earn doesn't encourage them to go back and learn the crap they missed.
The is the one of the first steps on a the path to giving each student in the class the class average as his/her grade.
They should get a certifiable logo. When you go to the store and see the game box, it should have a logo associated with these principles so that the customer that doesn't know might be inclined to find out what it means; and the customer that does know can have further incentive to make the purchase.
Clothing is returned to stores all the frakkin' time. Why can't I return software? Because it's easy to copy? So what if it is, that doesn't make mean that I'm a copyright violating criminal!
I remember my failed attempt to get a refund for Lord of the Rings Online. *sigh*
In 90% of all accidents, the at fault driver was wearing shoes. So, don't wear shoes and drive. Okay, I made the 90% thing up; but where are the stats for things like IQ, people with ADD, obesity, an IQ equivilant for Agility/Dexterity, and maybe credit scores. I think it would be funny to see that X% of accidents were caused by people with a credit score of Y or lower. "Sir, I'm going to have to charge with with a DWLCS (driving with low credit score)." "But officer, that was caused by a false collection which is why it only occurs on 1 of the 3 credit companies."
The problem never was drunk driving (was it?). The problem is people getting into car accidents and people getting hurt.
If Bob can't drive as well as Bill at the legally drunk metric then Bob must suffer the same consequences that Bill would have for driving in that state.
After buying an playing this game, I asked for a refund first from Turbine who said go talk to the distributor then from Midway. The number I was given for Midway didn't give me a good option to ask for a refund. I picked one and I was sent to voice mail! I left a message. Someone eventually called me back (a few days later) and left a message telling me I need to provide the original receipt and that I could only do an exchange for another midway game (WTF). They also said I only had 30 days from purchase to get this done. They didn't leave a call back number or any way for me to get a hold of them to supply a copy of my receipt. I've been to lazy to follow up, but GD I hate this crap.
Since any blade makes the entire thing defective, don't you have to figure the odds of blades NOT being defective in this case?
Something like:
D = odds of any blade being defective
N = number of blades
X = odds of the razor being defective
Ah, but they do have value. If it didn't have value then TurnItIn wouldn't have any problem with not storing articles/papers submitted for plagerism testing. The service TurnItIn supplies is dependent on having those high school level papers.
I wouldn't want some company using my work without my permission -- even if it is just a school assignment -- any more than I'd want my peers using it without my permission. Once I turn in an assignment is it still mine? I don't know. I did exchange the assignment for a grade didn't I?
Generalizations or stereo-types exist for a reason. If I look at an electric range and one of the burners is red, I am going to try to avoid touching it. It is possible however that the burners are simply painted or dyed red and not currently dangerous. Now when I get closer to the range and I'm able to tell no heat is being emmitted and it's not really glowing, I probably wont be as cautious. Generalizations and stereo-types are useful in filling in some gaps of unknown information until better data is availabe; but ultimately should be treated as unreliable. People shouldn't take serious action just based on a stereo-type. Forget offensive. That's just dumb.
Taking offense at someone voicing or defining their own stereo-type. Bah! Sounds kinda silly to me. How bout I get really pissed the next time someone offers me sunblock? "OMG, they assume because I have white skin that I'm prone to sunburns! How dare them!" Hehe, yeah that would be pretty silly.
So, I think I get what your saying about history of abuse and all; but it's the abusers that should be punished not the concept of stereo-types.
Hacking was originally a word representing something good and useful...
Useful yes. Good... err.. no. A Hack = shortterm gain in trade for long term pain. If you fix something with duct tape thats probably a hack.
When I make certain code changes I might refer to them as hacks. "Yeah. I put a hack in place to fix that." Basically I'm saying I put a sucky and hopefully temporary solution in place for a very specific problem that just happens to work. Hack usually implies that a solution was clever yet sucky and hopefully temporary. Unfortunately, most of the time hacks stay in place for much longer than the author intended.

Flipping the major version number should be enough to communicate it is a breaking / not backwards compatible version.
Christ I can barely make it to the 15th floor without some jackass farting.
It was you.

The solution was discovered long ago. Read Atlas Shrugged.
Forgot one more thing, you didn't see the boss using outside labor to do his job as a savings basis.

Excellent idea. I'd take it one step further...

At my school:
A - 94 or higher
B - 85 - 93
C - 70 - 84
F - 69 or lower
The US is a capitalist economy, right ?
Capitalist economies don't do this: bank bail out

Wouldn't that make the costs to fund government programs in the higher costs of living inherently higher as well?

... that there shouldn't be a record by gender.
Oh wait. I don't hear em' complaining. I for one think this takes away from the record for longest single spaceflight:
Dr Valeri Vladimirovich Polyakov - 437 days

Oh, I'm aware. (read as Kramer from Seinfeld)

My two cents.
Coming to stores near you, Dragon Quest IX exclusive for PS3 upgrade package 1.4 or better!
Is the downloading illegal or the distribution or both?
