Looks like the Free/Open Source Software movement is very close to closing up one of the most noticeable software gaps remaining from its glorious efforts.
Don't u think that's a little over reacting to call a video codec for videoconferencing, one of the most noticeable software gaps?
We always have to talk about patents don't we?
We can talk about something else, as long as it's about google or some MS bashing. So don't complain about the lack of variety:P

This is probably a good idea for next year's April's fool
or wait a minute, maybe it could make it for the next April's fool due in 3 minutes here on/.
I actually like April's fool jokes that do make some sense in an ironic way...
look at that:
'It's time for us open source guys to get in on the fun of burning money by making senseless acquisitions!'
Isn't that insightful?:)
So what happens if you prefetch a page that stresses some vulnerability in the browser? Does it get to run even though you didn't really even browse to the page....
I'm thinking it could be useful to developers who are not very good at reading plain English requirements document, Ironically I think the output maybe used for developers to get a better understanding of the requirements as it seems some of us do understand programming languages better than they do plain English.
You could call it survival of the fittest then, why didn't you go out and buy one of those? because you settled for the one shipped? It's your decision then.
but they've been photoshopped using the beta version of the new PhotoShop CS2:P

Your neighbours here in Egypt pay 150EGP a month (in salary terms it's equivalent to like $300, in exchange rates equivalent to $25) for 256KBit/64Kbit aDSL line...
Think about how it would be if there were one girl to every three guys or vice versa.
I'm -as most slashdotters- a guy so vice versa would be fine by me
I would just like to add a remark that voice communication through POTS doesn't even come near the human hearing frequency limitations. Human beings can hear from around 20Hz to 20KHz, I don't think your POTS line can deliver that though, I think it's limited to around 4KHz
you're probably a full time employee yourself, you'd think differently if you were a contractor. Been in both positions, and even though you don't really get job security as you said, at least you know there is "a layer" of contractors above you that would be laid off first before you are, because it's more of a headache for a company to lay off its full time employees.
Who said this programme never aired? It's my 2nd favorite car programme (After top gear) I've collected all seasons so far, and I know of many people (me included) who are willing to pay to download it legally. I don't think there will be any lack of demand... if only it were not DRMed wmv....

For the sake of getting rid of this comment let's just agree that we'll assume everything runs linux unless otherwise stated.

Egypt :D
But relocating to the US soon, and hence the curiousity.
Could someone please explain this "regulations" thing to non-americans?

Speaking as a non-hacked Brit :P
Did you ever see someone speaking as a hacked Brit?
