    remote desktop for support even on relatively high res screens is not bandwidth intensive, remember you aren't streaming movies here, modern remote dekstops only stream the changes on a screen so even high res screens are fine in sub 10 Mbit connections.

    if your personal website is sucking up 90Mbps for just 400 visits a day I have news for you, You have been hacked and are serving up games and video's for piracy sites. My enterprises datacenter pumps out approximately the same volume to the web, yet we handle approximately 30,000 users a day.

    Remote support is fine on 6.5Mbits/s, I did that for years before I moved to a 50 Mbits/s connection. Same for Telecommuting depending on what you are working as. Hell corporate desktops where I work they still put through on a 10 Mbit port as the vast majority even within the office don't need more.

    WAN backup and recovery is certainly valid, but hardly a necessity, same with family and friends VPN. The reality is you are reaching and didn't really come up with any must haves and yet you are saying others have no imagination.

    You are clinging to the past. China has a large and rapidly growing middle class as well as a strong wealthy segment. As to the HK comment, that is just moronic, HK population in its entirety doesn't even equal 1/5th of chinas population that earns over 200k a year.

    China is a massive market, even a small fraction of the market is bigger than most other countries. 1% is still 13.6 million customers and I would happily bet they have far more than a 1% share.

    One of the key limiting factors in ship building is not a technology or construction one, it is fitting into ports, under bridges and through things like the panama and Suez canals The technology within ships though has massively improved.

    obviously you have never been the victim of libel which can be devastating. My friend lost his entire business over one disgruntled customer who was more than two months overdue on payment for work completed, so he handed the bill over to debt collectors, the person then started a campaign to discredit his business, within a few months the decline in business was enough to send him bankrupt, he lost his business and his house. Sadly for him even libel laws were not enough to save him as while he was easily able to prove the guy was telling lies in court, the guy had no money so he never got a cent of the court victory. without libel laws the damage done to people and businesses would explode, as it is if you are a person with not much to lose you can get away with doing a lot of damage for very little consequences.

    free speech has NEVER meant freedom from consequences, it merely means the government will not try to regulate what you say, you are perfectly free to make libelous comments online, just their will potentially be consequences. libel laws do NOT limit freedom of speech.

    both PS/4 and Xbone use shared memory architectures. i.e. the memory bandwidth the CPU uses is the same as the GPU, if you pressure CPU memory bandwidth can affect what you can do with the GPU and vice versa, higher resolution equals more bandwidth utilization.

    You are bang on the money. We have quite a few ex military here where I work and they range in skills from very good admins to people that have absolutely no ability to problem solve or fix any issue they haven't seen before. On average I would rank the ex military we have as a little below average, if you exclude a few of the total retards who I can't understand how they were employed then they would be about average, no better, no worse than people with other backgrounds.

    MS doesn't charge any where near $100 to OEM's. last I saw it was less than half that. Apple also doesn't just give away its OS, you have to pay for upgrades to OS.X, it only gives away iOS (but it is hard to call it giving it away since the premium you pay for the hardware). MS desktop marketshare is STILL above 90% (though I do agree they are fighting to stay alive in other areas, but desktop they still have on lockdown despite vista and 8)

    I actually agree with him as the ability to seize information quickly when done right can save lives. HOWEVER, the people to blame for the removal of this ability is the US government for repeated abuses of everyone's rights and privacy. The US has proven they cannot be trusted with the ability to follow due process so you can hardly blame consumers and companies for looking to implement ways to remove their ability to gain any access regardless of process.

    Why would it matter whether china or Russia are being honest. They all have enough to destroy the world, does it matter whether than can do it only once or a 100 times over? The idiotic mentality that we must have more than the other side is just that "IDIOTIC". once you have enough to kill everyone on the planet many times over anything else is just defense companies wanting to spend more to increase their pay checks.
