    I'm not an Australian game coder.

    However, if you are running your own business, 80 hour weeks seem okay, because you end up with the fruits of your labour.

    Game companies should be co-ops. Then at the very least you will get rewarded for your obscene amount of work with a cut of the profits.

    The current business model is just exploitation of the many for the benefit of very few.

    I'm sure there are many lawyer firms out there willing to waive fees regardless of outcome of a piece of the settlement.

    That is the thing about America, litigating is part of the national psyche. I'm not a big propent of litigation, because it is subject to so much abuse. But this seems a fairly open and shut case of breaking the law. So why not use for what it was intended ie. for your rights.

    16 hour days on set, 6 days a week anyone?

    Why do people do these insane hours? Because are doing something that they are passionate about obviously and executives twist that into extracting the very lifeblood out of such people in pursuit of big $$$ that said people never see very much of

    if amazon can patent a button click, why can't these DE Tech patent electronic transactions ? :P They will be licensing each other in the end anyway. I fail to imagine how a process is an invention in and of itself and therefore worthy of patent protection. Its like someone patenting how to spin cotton into fabric. Wait..Don't tell me.. its already been patented and someone makes a lot of money off of it?

    Obviously no one thought the servers required some heavy duty testing. Living in denial being /.d .



    At least the server(s) has now been tested and found they cannot cope with a few measly million or so hits over a days period :P



    Have the geeks in charge of the server been told why their baby broke? If so, have they gone around and kneecapped ipod guy yet? :)

    The stupid thing is that her source was probably the Whitehouse in the first place, and they have kindly asked her to fall on her sword, in exchange for a nice sum of money with which she can retire on post-sentence (her Journalistic career and credibility is pretty much over anyway).

    Good to see New Zealand (my home) in the top 10. But Very Interesting to see Australia down in the 40s. Obviously having Kerry Packer owning all the media outlets, scratching the aussie goverments back, is perhaps NOT such a good thing.

    Singapore has fantastic and efficient public transport system. They just bothered to spend money on a good infrastructure. But I will admit it does help that they are a small (but rich) island .
