    This web site also claims that Bush deliberately lied about the presence of WMDs in Iraq

    He was either horribly wrong, or deliberately lied. Either way, the WMD which provided the reason for the war have yet to be found. There never was an Imminent' Threat.

    Finally, no airplanes were allowed to fly to Saudia Arabia in the days after 9/11.

    Nice spin there. Can you provide links to prove that no airplanes whatsoever flew to other countries in the days after?

    I agree with the the parent. Hemp wallets are the best.

    My first hemp wallet lasted me 11 years. Cost $15 in 1992-- made in the USA (Growing hemp is Illegal in the US, so this cloth came from outside the US) from a company which decent labor standards. The wallet developed a single hole in one of the outside corners and got stained by some paint. My wife got me a Hempy's Tri Fold for $20 last year.

    I also get many comments on my wallet. Most people think it's cool. Some people ask if I can smoke it (Education opportunity on the difference between hemp and Marijuana).

    I like how some people get offended by a hemp wallet. A cop once threatened to seize the wallet from me because it was made from hemp. It's just a piece of cloth, dumbass.

    Last year I finally threw away a pair of 80% hemp / 20% cotton jeans $80, but they lasted me 12 years. I wore them at home (Nice soft pants), work, hiking, camping (Hemp is warmer then cotton), rafting (Hemp is warmer then cotton when wet! And it dries very quickly).

    Yeah I remember you. You owned Boardwalk & Park Place. I landed on Boardwalk and had to pay you like $400 in rent... and then you went to the bank and exchanged my 4 $100 bills for a bunch of $20, $5 and $1 dollar bills ... AND I WAS THE BANKER ... it was like a double whammy.

    If I remember right, Jive Forums used to be an GPL'd open source project? This was in the Jive 1.x or 2.x days. Then the company forked the code, and the next branch was not GPL anymore ...

    This was somewhere between 1999 and 2002, anyone remember this? I was last looking at Jive about 8 months ago, but now I can't find the history any more ....

    Yes, but it's only magnitude 6.0 at the epicenter. Someone who is several hundred miles away can feel it, but it's not a 6.0 .

    I've lived within 20 miles of the San Andreas fault for almost my entire life, and I can tell you that you will never, ever forget experiencing a 6.0 .

    Now here is the misquote of the day, courtesy of CNN:

    Wait, what???? Redwood City is not nearby Parkfield at all-- it's 200 miles away-- a 4 hour drive, but it's nice they were able to fit in the Scott Peterson trial in there somewhere.

    I grew up 30 miles from the epicenter (Parkfield),
    I sometimes work in Redwood City and I live in Berkeley. It pains me that CNN looked so hard to find a connection to involve all 3 of these cities...

    If the founding fathers adopted your attitude we'd still be ruled by the King of England.

    Look, Democracy and freedom are goals, they are a process and are something we should be constantly strive for. If the founding fathers thought that our laws should never change, they would have written that restriction into the Constitution.
    Instead they wrote the process of change into the constition, and there have been 16 amendments to the Constition in the last 200 years.

    In the past, only white men who owned property could vote. The situation is different today -- every citizen can vote regardless if they of their gender, race or economic status. It used to be that 18 year olds couldn't vote. Now they can.
    We elect our senators, they are not appointed like they were initially.

    The Electoral College is an antiquated system. This is the 21st Century, not 18th Century rural America.

    Right and when majority rules, we call it a democracy. It's a good thing and is something that our country should be striving towards.

    California has 55 electoral votes and a population of 35 million people. That's 1 electoral vote per 636,000 people.

    Montana has 3 electoral votes and 786,000 people. That's 1 electoral vote per every 262,000 people.

    A citizens vote in Montana is worth 2.5 times the vote of a citizen in California. That is anti-democratic.

    This is one of the best questions in this forum.

    To find out who your electors are, you need to ask the Secretary of State (it's probabably on their webpage).

    Each state handles the Electoral College differently. Some states do list the names of the Electors on your ballot.

    I like how you casually ignore the Bush campaign video showing John Kerry, Prominant Democrats and Hitler.

    Yes, the video was from the "Bush in 30 seconds" contest sponsored by MoveOn (and was pulled), but from the Bush campaign video it was pretty clear that Bush was trying to make a connection between screaming Gore, screaming Moore and screaming Kerry with a screaming Hitler.

    Yeah, I agree with you that it used to work. In fact, after I upgraded from Win98 to Win2k, it took me a year to realize that my MS Office was out of date (I don't use it that often).

    Well just this weekend I used windowsupdate on two Win2k computers. Today I used windowsupdate on an XP machine.

    Windowsupdate did not update any MS Office components. The page had a link to the Office Updater, and that page showed several vulnerabilities.

    The MS Office Updater specifically installed a patch for these GDI+ bugs. Since few people use the Office Updater,

    Since this virus also affects MS Office, I bet it may be propogated that way.

    Most people update their system via windowsupdate.microsoft.com . However, despite the rumors, Windowsupdate does NOT update your MS Office suite.

    Very few people go the extrastep to use the MS office updater.

    Not quite Evolution, but these guys are working on getting Gnome2 ported to Cygwin.

    MS Outlook is decent, but it really lacks basic features that should exist in any modern Email/PIM application-- Real message threads, proper message quoting when I reply-to or forward an email message, Todo items which show up in your Calendar, Group contacts which show up in my own Contact list...
