Bullshit. DJB is up there with RMS in terms of being out of touch with reality. We all need extremists around but that doesn't mean do whatever they say.
Consulting rates for MS engineers is upwards of $200 an hour.
Driver certification is an order of magnitude higher, and you have to pay the fee each time you submit test results. However, you can see the test results before submitting them
4) Only show relevant file types in open and save dialogs. For those who like seeing every file that's every existed in their Documents folder, give them a checkbox to show all files. But personally, if I am opening a Pages file, I don't want to see all my iMovie, Excel, iDVD etc files. And OS X already knows which are which because non-related ones are greyed out.
This I dig, especially if you can filter down the list with a substring match or regular expressions.
5) Sort folders to top of directory listings I know that we don't go folder mining as much since we got Spotlight, so I won't labor on about this one.
Oh, so if you have your nice trimmed open/save dialog you still need to scroll past all the folders to figure out what file you want to open.
When I checked it out this morning I realized that it's nothing more than a "good looking" spam webportal.
Wrong, it's a horrible looking spam social networking site that has all the lousy bits of livejournal, friendster, makeoutclub, and amihotornot.com. It's all the rage among college freshmen.
'October 29, 2004: OpenOffice.org 2.0 Aqua port slows. With lack of a dedicated X11 team, 2.0 doesn't even compile "out of the box" for X11, and Cocoa development has slowed as well. The only current Mac OS X non-X11 development is the NeoOffice/J [neooffice.org] fork of OpenOffice.org 1.1.2, which is all the time I (Ed) have for myself. We desperatly need your help! The FDA is a political organization, not a scientific one. Check out the hearings for new drugs like Xenical or drugs that treat ALS, and you'll get to hear things like "ALS is so bad that we need a treatment even if it doesn't work." or "It's not fair to have a pill that makes you skinny. I had to work for my body and those fatties should too."
These comments come from the public towards a panel of medical professionals.
Unlike Gibson's good luck with "cyberspace", remix culture is already well-established, and has little room for authors to talk about it without knowing anything. In fact, it's already full of them.
What's wrong with that name?
We apparently don't need the "PC brigade"; check cubewano
I shall be forced to pipe all email through a jive translator.
That's an incentive to give you nothing if I ever heard one.
You're pretty funny. Immediate disclosure doesn't help software avoid security holes. It's like putting more people in jail to stop crime.

And D.J.Bernstein considers immediate release to be the correct way.
All the more reason to wait.

I saw him live back in 2001.
His first record was the theme from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. He also worked in the Sesame Street counting song.
Probably around 45 records in a half hour set. Awesome.
Errr, you've been told about option clicking on the zoom button, right?
Oh, but Sun didn't start that with Java. Their versions have been confusing since Solaris "8" (Solaris 2.8 with a SunOS 5.8 kernel)
You can do that in Mac OS X too. In fact, you could do that in Mac OS 7!
A curious juxtaposition:

Actually, he and you both mean bottom-right.
It looks green when looking through Earth's blue sky!

Yes, but your language was harsh and angry. I was perplexed.
You realize that you're agreeing with me, right? (with what I was trying to point out, anyway)
Keep putting words in my mouth, though. They're tasty.
The timeline is never.

yes.
mac os's earliest time was january 1, 1904 for a long time.
UNIX time is stored as a signed integer.
Ah, when you said "emulate a sound card", I assumed wrongly.
(giving up mod points AGAIN today)
Did you miss that whole punk thing in the 70s?
The hardware solution can be defeated by DRM not allowing playback on untrusted devices, and then never trusting the driver for this sound card.
