The whole point is that the DRM is a slippery slope. Once DRM is in place, the next place to go will be hardware with Trusted Computing. While it is easy to get around software issues, it is not so easy to get around hardware issues.
Also, I think the whole point of this campaign isn't all to just protest or complain, but rather inform and create enough coverage about it in the press so everyday-people become aware of what DRM is and why it might not be so good.
Me and a few others are trying to setup a website so that people who get rejected from the top 200 in google's summer of code have a place to go where they can still make their ideas a reality. It is going to be a place where they can get support from other fellow programmers, and keep track of their own as well as other's progres. Kind of a watch each other's back type deal.
It would be nice to have some money to give rewards to people that do accomplish something, and I think this would be a great way to donate some of the funds! Of course, I am little biased, since I am one of the people trying to get the program going!
Listen to off the hook, they have archives and hourly long episodes of many years, should keep you entertained for awhile.

Heap protection has been broken virtually everytime it has been implemented. The reason for this is, you still have system libraries from which have execution powers that can still be used for writing shellcode.
What if you want to go to the top of the mountain to snowboard down it? Are you really going to climb it first?
That in a nuthsell is what a gentoo ricer would say.
They are highly specialized. They cost around 12k for each rover, and about the same for the base.
They are used for land surveying, which requires distances being within a few hundredth of a foot in accuracy. Some of the systems can take advantage of WAAS, but unfortuantely, where I live we are not covered by any of the WAAS toweres:(
With all due respect you are completely wrong!
I use Land Survey Grade GPS equipment(accurate within a few centimeters), and basically the way I describe is how it works. You have a base, and a rover. Between those two and that satelites, it can find the differential errors, and fix them. It is a very complicated task. But if you had more rovers, it would make it more accurate.
WAAS is something totally different, but based on the same concept of having several locations to triangulate errors from.
I wonder if it would be possible to cluster 3 units together using the bluetooth or WiFi, then using the GPS on each one to use the differential algorithms to triangulate the position like more expensive professional GPS products do.
So, is Linus going to put out an advisory that there may be some random explit in the Gimp that allows user level access to hackers? I know there must be some random buffer overflow in the Gimp somewhere. Linus should point this out according to your logic, shouldn't he?
Kinda silly eh?
Not really.
What I am saying is, if you have a program that looks for a specific exploit, why not look for it in all pertinate files?
Also, it is not a good idea to give a false sense of security(which no window user probably has, but..) to users of a program, who think it is going to fix whatever the vulnerability is.
They are responsible for informing you that 3rd party DLL's might infected, in my opinion.
Also, if you write a program for searching out infected DLL's, why not do it for all libraries on the system?
If the "flash mob" is a bunch of terrorists, or others seeking havoc.
This makes no sense at all. Having a LUG meeting could be a security threat with the right type of people:)

We don't pay a flat monthly fee for "unlimited" water.

If you do, please let me know! I think it'd be fairly cool.
It'd be cool if the transparency showed the inside of the monitor!

The mod's eyes must not be very *cleat*

They own gdesktop.com http://www.directnic.com/whois/index.php?query=gde sktop.com Why not use it?
So how long till the democrats want to buy http://www.bushisaterrorist.com/ ?
Why not split files and save an index of related files to bypass teh 10-mb barrier?
Yeah, hopefully SpaceShipOne won't have case of the Mondays.

Will it be able to run with Apache out of the box?

Who knows, maybe I meant a superposition of both meanings? ;)
