    Yes.

    Most people accept the unproven theory of relativity to beyond a reasonable doubt. The theory of evolution might not be fact, but there is relatively good evidence to support it.

    With the lack of all knowledge, very little can actually shown to be fact; I can say you exist, but perhaps your a figment of a of my imagination, I can say red appears red, but maybe red actually appears green and everyone is colour blind.

    Evolution is not a fact, but it's the scientific consensus, has a far stronger evidence supporting it, and is a more (scientifically) plausible than any of the alternatives.

    I wouldn't consider transplanting human organs into an animal a chimera. When they can put human DNA and make human organs grow naturally in an animal, then we'll have a chimera (and a little problem on our hands).

    And, it's not just people who haven't bothered (or are unable) to upgrade, some to this day are intentionally inflicting such an atrocity upon themselves.

    It's not just themselves their inflicting such pain, it's also the the web development community trying to push web standards, their biggest opposition being NS4 users.

    No one wants hosted crap. Recurring fees, no applications if you are somewhere w/o an Internet connection, you never really "have" the software, etc. Its frickin rent-a-center.

    What about the future? When hosted solutions can rival or equal OS based applications, and an internet connection is considered as standard IO device as a keyboard.

    And being forced to upgrade your OS, and applications just to keep up with current software demands and document types isn't?

    Look at the beautiful design for Firefox, and then compare it with the crappy one for IE, says alot about what Google thinks of IE*, doesn't it?

    *In actual fact the page for IE was designed for use in the IE search pane, where as the Firefox page is obviously designed to be set as the homepage.

    Get a clue Microsoft! The Google Toolbar supplements basic lack of features in IE (such as auto-complete, search box, and pop blocker). When it's your product, you don't need to add a toolbar extension, you just add the features to to the goddamn browser itself!

    This won't make a big difference if Google (for instance) was compromised, a virus could replace the innocent text-ads (which are dynamically inserted client side via JavaScript in Google's case) with whatever malicious code it may desire.
