It really is a slimy piece of shit move to compare someone to Sandusky because they were at Penn under the same umbrella. This definitely harms his reputation and if you believe it then certainly you will have disagreeable opinions and feelings towards him. He's a scientist who interpreted data in a controversial way that is argued among academics, he certainly didn't rape innocent children in the showers.

  8. I still read the print newspaper.... on Newsweek To Go Digital-Only In 2013 · · Score: 3, Interesting

I don't dislike print or digital news. There is a place for both in my opinion.

When I fly it is usually realatively short flights, 1-3 hours. Knowing I can't use electronics through half of the flight I just pickup a newspaper or a copy of news week for the trip, I read it on the flight and leave it at the gate for others to read after me. Same with the newspaper at coffee shops, its a media that is comfortable for me, whereas small phone screens or electronic tablet screens really feel foreign still to me.

I had a Kindle Fire for a while but found that wifi coverage really wasn't very good even though I live in a major city. No wifi on the train, or it wasn't working most of the time so I couldn't read the news or it was so slow that I spent half the time loading on congested wifi. Print media is still the way to go in many circumstances, unfortunately the market is shrinking very quickly so it may go the way of betamax, but until then I'm holding on.

In the US, shooting the messenger is the standard in vulnerability disclosure. As such, in the past 5 years most researchers just give up on responsible disclosure, I mean, why bother?

The good deed you are doing will be met with adverse reaction by the non-technical public, the press and law enforcement. That's a risk researchers just cannot risk, better to just use your research for your own purposes; commercial, nefarious or otherwise, than risk spending 1-10 years in federal pound me in the ass lockup. Hell, even the government doesn't give a shit about responsible disclosure, look at Stuxnet, we know it had 0 days and we believe it was government backed, where was the responsible disclosure there? Government leaving millions at risk and no one holds them accountable?

Vibration from the controller is mostly ignored when playing xbox games and a distraction as well.

With huge TV's and cheap(er) high quality Audio, I really have all I need, just focus on making better games and faster consoles and more vibrant environments and gaming will be fun for years to come.

Now if you control the manufacturing, edge out competition like B&N's nook you could release a Kindle 2 at 300$ and still be far cheaper than an IPad and make a good chunk off hardware costs.

Citizens pay taxes, which fund governments which are be accountable to the public who pay the taxes, that's how it *should* work. What Assange is going through shows very clearly that when we attempt to hold those in power accountable for their actions, actions which they have kept(hidden) from the public, they will go after you tooth and nail.
