Yes.
Did you know that the FCC requires a check on tissue exposure? There is a Maximum Permissable Exposure regulation. There are charts based on studies.
It is a serious issue, which is hugely distorted by ELF. The other thing is that the emission of carbon dioxide might not effect global warming in the huge direct corelation, which ELF and others purport.
On the radio front there has been huge intake of disappointment due to low solar activity. There has been talk of a new Maraunder Minimum. With decreasing solar activity we might actually have the Earth heated less by the sun. Some have speculated that a Maruander Minimum and the corresponding overall decrease in solar activity could drop the average temperature by 1 degree.
The body does absorb RF. The new "cooking" method to eradicate cancer which has been shown on 60 Minutes used HF.
Is there a potent danger from the radio station? No. ELF is whacked. These guys talk about scientific models as the basis for destruction of property and physical violence towards human beings. The scientific models are incomplete and very imprecise. It is not rational to murder people over such models. The results of global warming might be better for everyone, too. I know that I am looking forward to beach front property when the coast floods.;)
Well,
the railroad land grant system has not been reviewed in the correct context. Prior to the development of the land in Nebraska and Iowa, the federal land was worthless. No one could reach the land and ship backwards to the east coast. The federal government gave some land away in order to sell their land at a much higher value. It is akin to making someone a teaser offer prior to the big sale. Hardly a match to annual licensing of spectrum fees for large sums. Our average cellphone bill per a customer is many times higher than those in most Asian countries. Land costs to many settler had been extremely low in comparison to land costs in foreign countries.
I had thought everyone know that the $70 number from the New York Times is extremely misleading.
The $70 includes the payments to the retirement funds for RETIRED workers. This is for pension of GM workers that management has never paid during the last 40 years.
It is only $50 for the current worker and his or her benefits.
It is not far from the average of a Toyota worker in the US.
Toyota workers in Japan earn more.
GM management has insisted upon pushing designs to market that no one wants to buy. They also continue to think that everyone is going to buy a new car every three years. The demand is not there. The average age of a car in my state is 10 years; I live in a blue state, too. You can't build 50 million cars when only 30 million customers are out there.
GM management has continued to ignore the wishes of the marketplace. Look at how the car prices have declined. Yet, they still can not make money.
Except that they are able to build new lines in France. Most of the TGV routes are on lines of new construction. Germany built a line from Frankfurt to Cologne.
Europe has much more vicious environmental protests, ecoterrorists, more regulation, and higher land costs?
If they can? Why not the US?
You are aware of the fact that General Motors used to build Electric locomotives? Rail technology had relied heavily upon General Motors products from the 1950's until the early 1980's. GM produced a product that worked. If a part failed in the -2, then you pulled it out. You simply put a new module in place of the failed part. Your shops could repair or obtain a new part while the locomotive was in operation.
GM failed to bring any new TRACTION metholodogies to market during the 1990's. GE was a always a minor player. They slowly assumed dominance with the larger push to computerized consoles with computer controlled braking and power and AC traction.
GM did not see how to improve fuel efficiency and meet the high EPA standards set during the BUSH administration.
Their foreign sales were drying up as the new markets bought GE products. China was buying FRENCH and GERMAN high speed rail for passenger projects and not diesel electrics for slow freight products.
They committed the same management failure in the train market as the car market. They failed to develop new products for the changing marketplace. Once they realized that people are not going to buy SD40's forever, they came out with the SD80 and the SD70. However, this is like buying a Chevy Astro Van today with is the same as the chevy Astro Van model of 15 years ago.
They realized that the market place is not going to keep buying the stuff. So they sold out. One of the big plants in IL which made lots of train engines was razed several years back.
Did you know that the ARMY is using lead ammunition, again?
The research has not been done on Tungsten. Everyone wanted them to switch to tungsten for practice ammunition as lead has been showing up in the water supply.
The only thing is that tungsten levels are just as high was lead in some places after only ten years of approximate tungsten use versus 90 years of lead use.
Sometimes we are better off with the original stuff. Why is Canada still mining Asbestos?
Many companies have voluntarily registered and collected sales tax in other states.
Currently, one of the bills in Congress would enable any state belonging to the compact to demand companies in the compact to collect their sales tax. In future If you collect sales tax in Illinois then you could automatically be required to collect in ALL of the other states belonging to the compact. You would also need to invest in software to handle the FULL NINE DIGIT ZIP CODE to determine the tax rate.
The guy that talks about certificates is full of baloney. You can not accept a certificate that is invalid in the face of the document.
Would anyone believe that a Car mechanic is going to sell 1 roll of 5,000 feet of carpet? I don't think so.
There are lot of people that evade tax within their jurisdiction by giving BLATANTLY OBVIOUS falsified certificates.
Those use tax requirements are not enforced on a whim. There is much going on behind the wheels that you do not see.
Currently, democrats from Illinois and several other states are moving to pass a bill that would allow states to collect sales tax on sales made to a resident in a foreign state.
The federal government has the power to regulate interstate commerce. The democrats are pushing for this bill to pass and allow states that join the interstate compact to tax all sales.
For computer gurus most of you guys are very naive when it comes to enforcement.
It is a no-brainer, if you want more revenue to increase the taxable base. Everyone votes in the Democrats year after year.
I digress. You do not need any internet records to collect this tax. All you have to do is get the business records, which is easy as pie. It is done every day.
We have the right to liberty and the right to the pursuit of happiness.
The Bill of Rights is not a set of limited rights enshrined to the people. IT is only a restriction against the government from usurping those rights. The Right of Liberty can not be assumed with out due process.
Didn't anyone learn from the mistakes of IBM? They actually went and hired a lot of people in Germany. They built a system from the ground up. They approached the 3rd Reich Government with the proposal on how to track people.
Are we kidding ourselves?
Ever think that regulation would end most of the smaller players and improve Comcast's share? Comcast would still be around if more regulation occurred. Other players would be out of the game.
Except we tax personal property, now. This means your chair, desk, and computer.
Seriously. Where have you been? Most jurisdictions levy a personal property tax.
I question that a doctor could not determine if the patient is seeking drugs. I think that you created a problem that does not really exist from what I have seen of this.
Except a 3rd party could be your insurance company, which definitely has the size. In my area the hospital is actually a conglomeration of hospitals and doctors. They could have transparency between sites.
In fact their electronic records are already set up. You can go anywhere in my system and pull my record.
So why do I need this Google?
Chicago and New York are renowned for stories of police brutality that you never hear emanating from other communities. Chicago is infamous for taking care of cop-killers.
The effect of Wickard V. Filburn extending the commerce power of the Federal government is still felt today. Without the extension of the Commerce power in that case the federal government could hardly regulate firearms, automobiles, drugs, telecommunications, and many other things to the extent possible, today.
We have replaced commonsense and small government with bureaus that decide if you can do something, today. They are frequently co-opted by those flush with cash. FDR ushered in a socialistic government that tries to fix everything so that it can provide happiness to everyone.
The role of government was to facilitate an economy and lifestyle that allowed people to be successful on their own merits. It was to prevent people from invading the country or someone stealing your property. It was not intended to provide you with food or TV.
We have allowed this nonsense due to our beliefs that we do not live in a socialistic country. Other countries such as France are more open and they have moved past bigotry and other problems. They require stores to close so that workers can actually go home. Here in America we keep trying to set back closing laws so that the employer can have the employees work more hours for less in the name of "capitalism." Unforunately, no one is helping the employee get their proper wages or enabling them the ability to get proper working hours.
We have allowed places like Wal-mart to rise that do not pay their workers. We allow them to sell bicycles that fall apart as soon as they come home. Look at all of those lawsuits. Clearly something is wrong with our culture and government, if Walmart has a lawsuit in every state regarding abusive treatment and failure to pay wages. After we have a laugh about the lawsuits on/. we go exclaim against the horrors of government trying to restrain the wal-mart in booksellers from expanding in Europe.
I have a bookseller down the street from my office that sells used books. I sometimes can find something in there that would not be picked up at Borders.
Borders does not even carry Doctor Who novels. Nor does Barnes & Nobles. I once asked a woman clerk at the store about the Doctor Who novels. She was insulted and told me that they would not carry the trash from Virgin Books. I still don't know what that was about.
So don't think that you can find something about anything that you would like to know in one of those stores. They do not even carry all of the popular books.
How can you make hillbilly remarks like this? Have you seen the price of a.306? A Hillbilly can not afford it. It is the same thing regarding.50 BMG. No crime has been prosecuted in this country regarding.50 BMG. There have been no shootings of aeroplanes.
The ranging and calculations necessary for a good planned air vehicle shooting are impossible for the average person in realty. They do not have the equipment and training.
I had thought we made the Green Move some time ago. We are allowing employees to work from home in order to reduce transportation costs and the damage to the environment. The productivity gains and improvement in employee morale would also be important to the IRS. So we can't allow them to telecommute?
You didn't think the other thing. The guy comes out with his laptop in order to review YOUR RECORDS on site.
Sheesh, I guess no one else here has been audited by them!
I do not believe your story.
Who has an AIS or any part of it running on a LAPTOP? Has any Slashdotter besides me seen a real system running on Oracle? Or Great Plains?
I disagree. The ITU is a conference of individual regulatory agencies of various governments. It has been ineffectual of assessing the value of broadcasting. They have allowed broadcasters to park all over medium wave
and shortwave. Do we really need all of these things spread all over the place? It has allowed too much broadcasting to occur. It has no ability to enforce proper spectrum plans as developed. Pirates operate in one country and effect users in another country with no enforcement available to terminate or restrict such operations.
