Pay particular attention to how the foundation is adapted to the house and how much space (height) is used compared to a traditional house. If a basement is planned, then be sure to look into heating the basement as some of the smaller prefab houses are not designed with a basement in mind.
No experience myself but relatives in the country went the prefab route.
The obvious solution to your problem is to buy 200-300 19" "monitors" (we're actually talking about LCDs, right?) and donate one or two to any X hacker you can find. Your problem should be documented with numerous workarounds and possibly fixes within a couple months.
I've also heard of people on the Atkins diet having real problems with energy, although most geeks don't expend much physical energy, the mental energy is still required.
For the first couple of weeks of the Atkins diet, the dieter may feel a lack of energy. I didn't notice any energy loss at all. After that initial hump, people on the Atkins diet generally have more energy than they did before. I believe that one of the reasons for this is that the Atkins diet leads to stable blood sugar levels (avoidance of sugar and excessive carbs).
AFAIK, the cause of cancer is still unknown and hotly debated. I would make any life decisions based on FUD! Like some of the other posters, I fell off the wagon fairly quickly. Changing my diet was harder than I would have thought but I'm going to try it again. For me, the hardest part was learning to cook new things.
Think of the opposite -- using these drivers on Linux could finally clear up which drivers are responsible for the crashing the system and absolve Microsoft from blame (in these specific cases). Free driver stability testing, apply within. Kernel compilation experience required.
If file aren't encrypted for transit, then they can be intercepted by other users of the network. If your LAN has 2 Unix systems and 1 Windows box that's been 0wnzed with BackOrifice, the hacker can glimpse files the Unix systems are sharing on SMB/NFS, even though he's unable to log into the shares.
Damn straight! Everyone uses ethernet hubs so this is a very big problem. President Bush should use that 87 billion dollars to buy ethernet switches for everyone. Think of the children.
The killing of course is that Lindows does not devalue their product in the eyes of consumers yet can still give it away! They might never be paid by Microsoft for the claims yet they get free advertising and more customers.
They aren't making a killing, you are the killing.
One other idea -- make integration into your community website a part of your program (ie, submit this photo for photo of the day/month/?, add photo to online portfolio, etc). When the program is installed or run for the first time, make the registration into the community an option.
This brings up bandwidth issues if portfolios are online but it might also bring up additional revenue possibilities if you're interested in providing services along with the program itself.
Have you thought about targeted digital photography neophytes? Forums, tutorials (I see you have some already), and other material could draw these people in. I've participated in a number of forums at various digital photo websites and it has been fun. I liked the photo of the day and the themed monthly group photo assignment the most.
On a side note, what might help draw these people to your new site is your participation in other sites and usenet groups. If you know how to do this right, which I think of as being an active and useful member of the community (not spamming), you will get click throughs to your site (best with your website's URL in your sig). This is a fine line to tread and it does take time.
Do you know how to save your Gnome preferences? While running KDE I can load up the Gnome preferences panels but the changes are never saved. By default, my Gnome apps have large fonts, large UI widgets, and just look 'orrible.
For dependent students the amount is almost halved but any student can become indepent when they are 23 years old or demonstrate that they truely are no longer supported by their parents/guardians (don't know too much about this though). This is only Stafford loans too, there are plenty of other sources for loans.
Now if you had said loan-slaves maybe I'd be slightly more inclined to agree...
Can anyone share their experience transferring from a school here in the US to Cananda? It is definately something I would consider. Lots of questions about financial aid and credit transfer come to mind.
once any of them are set up, you just leave them in the corner, make sure they get enough air flow, and let them run.
And I don't disagree with this one iota but the "set up" is relatively complicated compared to commercial solutions. I'll go Samba any day but it could use a lot of polish IMHO. Once it is setup, it's just hums, that I fully agree with.
If that pisses you off, then put together all these OSS bits and pieces into one package, create some very refined managment tools and sell your consulting services. You'll make a killing.
Why doesn't anyone else seem to understand this? Hello? Have you not had to fight to get Samba to run properly? I now know the ins and outs of Samba but saying that Samba, it it's present form, could simply be a drop in replacement for something like Netware or Windows Server is a joke. It requires a lot of configuration and testing work to get it up to snuff. I just wish the Samba team did a better job of handling their releases. Every single major release seeems to be followed up by an essential patch within days if not hours.
Of course on/. someone who has never used Samba to replace a well-used Netware server will start yakking away about how simple it is.
I don't actually use it very much but I showed it to one of the techs in the IT department and they were impressed. He had a machine in for a memory replacement and it detected the bad memory very quickly. I'm definately keeping it in my toolbox to run on any new computer I put together or buy.

So maybe 200,000 geeks with nothing better to do than read their spam and a couple of marks.

So this means the rest of Stardust should come to light post haste?

Interesting--too bad their website has everything except useful documentation.

Who hits the hitters of the big hit hitters?
Right away when I saw the story I too thought of dumpster divers. I wonder how long it will take to be overturned though!

Plus maybe they won't have e-coli and fecal material mixed in this time around! Wahooo!

Check out his resume. He is contracted to do the ports.
Compare that to the US, where students need to excell at sports, or wage-slave themselves between lectures to keep going.
Stafford Loan Maximums (independent student):
1st year: $6625
2nd year: $7500
3rd year: $10500
4th year: $10500
5th year: $10500

... even took EECS 322 from a certified insane professor and his dog-boy assistant.
So do we get to hear some anecdotes?

Truer words were never spoken/written, IMHO.

Of course on
See:
- automount
- hotplug architecture
- kde3 has nice option to put new mounted filesystems on desktop as icons, see prefs.
The Windows version he has on the page works on Windows XP (shh... I'm at work).
