    99% profit? You think salaries, benefits, buildings, equipment are all free? Please. Only a person that lacks any experience in the real world thinks the software industry enjoys a 99% profit margin or anywhere close to that.

    Half the "fun" of a physical magazine is the ability to skim through it and flip the pages. Using "digital" magazines has none of that ability. Reading books in digital is great because it is a linear process. But how many people read magazines in a start to finish fashion?

    Yeah, what about the "we aren't pressuring you but we are" from Libermans office to Amazon over Wikileaks? Which was evil there? Or will we just pretend it doesn't exist since it doesn't help the cause.

    I've been long dreading porting my iPhone App to Android for the fragmentation issues. It is enough there are plenty of flavors of iOS out there (And Apple doesn't provide a means for developers to downgrade to perform testing), but on Android the problems are only compounded. I mean, I have been playing with Android enough - but it is far, as you proclaim, from being the "open future" people want it to be.

    You aren't comparing like things. Denying Amazon servers the right to serve up their own content is not the same as Amazon not hosting Wikileaks. They aren't even in the same ballpark. The right to refuse to do business with someone, for whatever reason is no where near the same as denying OTHERS the right to do business with someone.

    Could it possible change intercontinental flying times? Instead of 20 hours to get to Australia from Washington DC, could you jump on a "Space Craft" - get into low orbit and get across in an hour or two.

    Granted, the price point and that kind of technology are a ways off. But one could dream...

    The 100 device limit for Ad Hoc is certainly a major drawback for non-enterprise accounts. I absolutely agree. Apples advice has been "setup 4 accounts" - which is just a PITA.

    No, enterprise does not require you to manually distribute it. Since iOS 4 there has been over their air distribution to unlimited handsets. The major drawback to enterprise is the 500 person threshold.

    Ad Hoc certainly has drawbacks, but certainly is doable if necessary but should be easier to distribute.

    Please, some more uneducated opinions. Lets bash Apple with what we think we know!

    You don't need an App store to distribute your App with Apple. You can use Enterprise or Ad Hoc.

    But I guess "zomg apple sucks!" misinformation sounds better and gets you "Insightful"
