You know what the real problem with math is. The teachers! Yes, they suck. The books normally expects to have facts, then the teacher MUST explain the facts, but what I found is that the teachers do not known about math so facts are studied as math and math became facts. Therefore, after summing all the facts you get bad teachers that show only the facts in the books that hold only the facts so the teacher can teach you the facts (such an infinite series).
So about your question, the problem is that you cannot see what is math all about (yes for real) they said math is everywhere (and really is everywhere, yes). So how you can get your math groove?

I just want to say that I am agreeing with you. I am sad to say this country goes to be the fifth economy in 15 years, but nobody complains yet. Something that I found funny is that the two groups that will complain about the state of the industry (colleges and military) will not say anything about this, until I realized that colleges can ask for more money and the military is of shoring its work. Recently several colleges started to sound the alarm citing the decline of new students for IT field, how do you want to enter a field that does not have a job for you? Put yourself under debit (40,000+) in college education and no job (compare this with an Indian student: 0). and you hear the government using the same words: the greatest economy in the planet, 7 + billon economy. Now they realized that a huge amount of those 7+ billon dollars is consumer expending. Globalization is important to US corporation because they will need to comply with expensive laws (such as clean environment) they move to china because there is not such thing over there, so is not only salaries what they are pushing. However, just remember that all has several points of view, if you are the 5% in top: this is the best president and the best economic plan that they ever hear before. The rest, complain and you are anti American

Well let me see, to get the same performance than an Xbox 360 you need to get a +700 video card, +300 sound cards and a +1000 CPU + motherboard or pay 300. PC games go for +40 and Console Games for the same. So what do you prefer?

Many of these companies know that Microsoft will buy them or Microsoft entered with them in a partnership. Then Microsoft decided that was less expensive to bully the same companies (so they can buy the IP very cheap) nobody will create a new company. Today no too many companies develop outside Microsoft using something Microsoft can include in its core products. The result: Microsoft has a ton of cash at hand, they do not want to hire full time employees (sorry I mean American or European Programmers), Indian or Chinese (cheap by the dozen) Yes.
Well: about Telco do not expending any money in R&D, the same pattern apply to other sectors, last year Intel said would expend 450 million in R&D (just because they want to cut prices to compete with AMD). At the same time, Samsung said that wants to replace Intel and to do so they will spend 1.2 Billon, Intel then expands its R&D to 1.5 Billon, so the new processors that Intel has developed are thanks Samsung. The moral is that R&D is not in the American corporation vocabulary, R&D and personnel are evils that if they can be never used (or replaced with something cheaper).
Just try to get the Nokia J2ME:
1) Join Nokia web site
2) Download the J2ME
3) Ask for a key to finish the installation
4) The installation crashes
5) You need to download again
6) Repeat steps 3 to 6

Then just realized that colleges do not care because they can raise the fees (they will care because nobody can afford the fees) and the military is because they have one of the best off shoring systems.
So I am back to school, I know as a teacher I will make less money that I am making now but because a programmer in this days does not make a good salaries, so is not so painfully anymore.

You know the ones that say productivity over there is high (that is something I never understood, USA workers are the MOST productive workers in the word, but if you move you JOB to India you job productivity INCREASES).
