But much like most other corporate entities that do this, while we don't know which products they will release open soruce, I'm guessing it won't be the one that they typically charge six figures for in license fees.
I do like Business Objects though, it's a decent platform.
Because earlier posts tend to get the gimp mod points, where as a later post much actually BE interesting or insightful to get modded up. Naturally, you want to be positively recognized with a minimum of effort...
why "You" always mod me troll or flamebait
Probably because you head into a post with a bullet list of acidic talking points made purposely to insight strong emotions.
dupes

The consistency of the Yankees in winning can almost enitrely be attributed to the Yankees not sucking. Conversely, the Cubs consistently coming up short is directly related to their complete suckage.
Your questions on crime shows, Larry King, Donald Trump, and Steve Ballmer are all related to their inexplicable ability to make money despite being complete assholes.
why people wait at all costs and discomfort to get home and take a dump
Because of the thoughts that they have when they go to take a leak and someone else is dropping a load. Most people aren't proud of the smell and sounds they produce during #2.
And finally...

Yeah, and how smug of them to assume the Net could actually die if even a notable segment of it was removed. Sure, some things wouldn't be accessible, but what was lost would surely be replaced.
Sure, some things couldn't truly be replaced...but the Net(s) would survive.
Ah, but here's what would happen. EUInternet breaks off from USInternet. Everyone in the world wants/NEEDS the two to be connected so mr. UNInternet overseer provides the connection between the two. Problem solved, UN wins afterall.
It wouldn't actually be YOUR mind. It would just be a completely accurate replication of your mind, body, etc... your duplicate would THINK that everything was a-okay, but the original you would be dead. Yes, everyone around you wouldn't know any different. However, what if the original you did NOT get destroyed and there were two of you. How would you feel about that? Still feel like nothing changed?
So you would be okay ceasing to exist in favor of a perfect copy of yourself? You realize that you would not be around to be fine with it or not. I know I would much rather not cease to exist for the convenience of teleportation.
I guess if we amount to nothing more than a bunch of atoms in a certain configuration, then it doesn't really matter pragmatically. Ethically and morally it seems suspect though.
Waaaaait a minute. You say their teleportation basically destroys the local version and creates an exact replica on the other end....so it's NOT good for inanimate object transport. However, you then say the only useful thing you could do is transport a PERSON?!? So, you think it makes sense to clone people repeatedly while destroying the original each time?? Even throwing out the views of the religious segment of our population, that doesn't exactly seem like a good idea.
The cops aren't all techno-idiots. Most major precincts have cybercrime divisions. The people they employ typically know how to investigate computer activity. Perhaps he could have come up with a BETTER lie that a cop computer geek couldn't have easily refuted, but chances are he denied being in there and they had obvious proof that he had been in there.
For smaller companies and websites, yes, that's a fine way to test. Especially when you would otherwise not have resources to do so. However, a financial institution would be committing business and legal suicide to allow something like this to happen. If a hacker were successful, that means they compromised security around some VERY sensitive and important information. And once it's compromised...why not steal billions of dollars? Or sell personal information from the accounts you find?
It really doesn't work well for those types of scenarios.
While I'm pretty sure you were being sarcastic...you wouldn't want to do this because if this type of attack is successful you may actually lose something.
Thank you for making my argument for me. He was involved in the early design of WHAT? ARPANET!!!! A wholly US Government entity.
When was the last time you worked on a project for some Corporate entity where YOU ended up owning the work? I'll help you out with that one, never. The company owns it.
No, I do not imply that he was armed with WMDs. He repeatedly violated the terms of many UN resolutions over the course of many years. Whether he was armed and hid them, wasn't armed but was building them, or was just sabre-rattling to show strength, the UN was all about making more and more resolutions despite repeated violations. At some point DIFFERENT action has to be taken. Invasion may or may not have been the appropriate action, but they certainly don't have to worry about writing any more resolutions addressing Saddam's regime.
No, it didn't work. He didn't have WMD (we assume) because his crack-team of nuclear physicists couldn't do it. He desparately wanted WMD, and thought he had them, or at least wanted everyone to think he had them.
What it boils down to is that the UN tries to win all battles with words. And if someone completely disagrees with you, words won't cut it.
And who did? Aliens? Certainly not the UN! I'm pretty sure it wasn't Russia, China, Japan, Mexico, South America, Canada, Europe, or Antartica. Maybe it was Santa Claus?
if they're so keen on controlling it! Besides, this new internet could be IPv6 and solve all the problems of the current internet...such as HAVING only a small number of computers that are the only way the internet can run.
Seriously, it IS a creation of the US, and whether you feel it's right or wrong, the US and the UN aren't always looking out for each others interests. I'm not sure what the US would lose by giving up control, but I think I'd rather have it here than controlled by the UN where the servers would, I assume, be moved somewhere else. Or worse, moved from country to country as the UN wants to be fair to all united nations parties.

With the final cut being vasectomy? Or castration?
However, this prophetic talent will be obscured greatly when the remake (and rewrite) of 1984 is done for the 30th anniversary.
Unforutnately this has revealed an unsightly third, and quite hairy nipple.
Hostess used the DMCA!
And please remove capitilzation on APITALIZE.
I know my voip is wire tapped. I think CmdrTaco has a loopback on his dupe machine.
Dahboo clever? It's a rather common utterance of peons!

The UN would "force" them the same way they forced Saddam to disarm. Many years of weakly worded resolutions and loud bellyaching.

Successful text-based comparisons? What the hell does dropping leading zeros have to do with that?
